Bobby McCray: Borderline Dirty Player or Just Dirty?

He needlessly blasted Kurt last week and this week he needlessly blasted Favre AND him low... Discuss...

Who else and please provide specific examples. How is Drew Brees a dirty player? How is Jonathan Vilma a dirty player. What makes Marques Colston a dirty player?

I know you don't like the Saints and are pissed at the notion you have that the Saints are dirty after last weeks game, but honestly I just don't see it. To label the entire team as dirty is ridiculous especially if you can't back up your claim with facts.

No doubt his hit on Favre tonight should have been a penalty and he should be fined IMO, but keep in mind that there are a lot of people out there outside of Cardinal fans that think some of the Cardinal players play dirty as well. We all know that they just play hard, not dirty.

I think he is "utilizing his advantage".

I would have done the same in all three instances.

I am not going to go so far as say the Saints are a dirty team. The block on Warner was legal although I think unneccessary. Some of the hits on Farve were brutal. The refs missed some I thought were panalties. When a QB passes the ball and the DEF player takes three steps and then pounds the QB is a penalty. That should have been called or at least they have called that most of the year.

But the bottom line is regardless of the REFS the Vikings blew this game with turnovers.

I think this is clear: Greg Williams, the Saints DC very likely made "getting hits on the QB" the first priority for the last two weeks.

I thought that there were at least three roughing the QB calls on the Saints that were missed (and BTW -- I was actually rooting for the Saints).

When one of the commentators said Williams learned his trade under Buddy Ryan that was all I need to know. I'm no Favre fan, but I wonder how much bounty money the Saints will be collecting.

Not very likely, definitely. The network coverage even made a point of it, one of the commentators stated, "Greg Williams said that both last week and this week getting hits on the QB was part of the game plan." That statement of itself is simply sound football.

However the execution of the strategy, particularly by McCray was outside the bounderies of fair play.
First, as I stated last week, his hit on Warner, was intended to injure Warner.
Second, very late hit on Farve, which was called by the officials (I think, because the way it was announced was confusing, and they showed a replay of a player being hit out of bounds on the same play.
Third, late in the game yesterday after Farve limped off the field following being hit, replay showed McCray not only hitting Farve low as another player hit him high, but also pulling and twisting Farve's leg as he hit him. Again an intentional and deliberate attempt to injure.

Following some of his actions the past two weeks, the league needs to review the play of McCray, and penalize him (fine and/or suspension) for
it.

As karma, I was pulling for the Saints to win this game.

Purposely dive low at the back of a defenseless player's legs? when your teammate is already hitting him high?

Dirty.

Yes it was.

And was quite effective too.

Didn't see a flag on this play either.

Trying to injure another player is sick, and if you're proud of that or don't see a problem with it, I pity you.

Just because you didn't see one doesn't mean one shouldn't have been there.

The turnovers cost the Vikings the game, but the officiating sure didn't do them any favors. That P.I. on Greenway on the last drive looked borderline.

that it is - part of the reason I was glad to see the vikings lose

After the "big hit" on Favre they showed Deanna's reaction and I immediately flashed onto Brenda and Kurt. I can only imagine (if they were watching together) what she turned to him and said. Nothing good if you want Kurt back next season.
