A look ahead to the offseason...cuz thats what cards fans do in December.
Okay i think we can all agree OT (both of them) and WR2 are our biggest needs. Some would argue QB but with the cash we gave Kolb like it or not, he's our guy next year. It looks like we'll be picking somewhere around #10 which should land us either Martin or Rief Riley at LT in rd1. The link below lists the probable free agent WR, there's quite a few that are very attractive, specifically Desean Jackson and Braylon Edwards. Assuming we let Levi go and replace him with our rd1 pick, we should have a pretty good amount of cash to make a splash in FA. The 2nd list is the probable FA OT's I'd like to see max Starks at RT he's been rumored for years to be a target in Az maybe this isthe year. I love what Beenie is doing (BTW he's only 23 years old) and dont forget well have Ryan Williams back from the knee injury.
On defense we need to keep our front 3 in tact with Calais Dd and big Dan. I love what Dwash is doing and Paris lennon while not flashy is very solid next to him. On the outside acho and schofield seem to be coming on but well likely let the old guys go so well need some depth at olb. I like AW and Rhodes at S and PP along with Toler coming back at cb with Marshall and aj jefferson behind them.

I will keep it simple for you.
Sign Norv Turner as the OC.
Re-sign Calais Campbell-DE
Sign DeSean Jackson-WR (though I'm not sure he fits with Norv's system.)
Trade back in the first round and pick up a 2nd round pick.
1st round pick: David DeCastro-OG
-When you have OL issues and the best o-linemen on the board is a OG, you trade back and take the OG.
2nd round pick: Nate Potter-OT (acquired on trade back)
-Great pass blocker, and one of the few, true LT in the draft. I think Mike Adams will be gone by mid to late 2nd round which is where an acquired pick would fall.
3rd round pick: Chase Thomas-OLB
-He is smart, relentless and causes turnovers. More than that, he can play both inside and outside. Not a perfect edge rusher, but a solid add to our linebacker stable.

Paris Lenon turned 34 yesterday. The Cards need to find a replacement for him.

exactly. You have Acho and Washington...now complete the most important position on the 3-4 and round out the LBs

I'm hoping Stewart Bradley is that replacement.

What's all this? I saw a graphic about the NFC playoff race on the NFL Network and we were in the " IN THE HUNT category. Oh, yeah!

So am I. In fact that's one of the things I'll be looking at in watching the replay tonight on NFL game rewind. He made a couple of great plays vs SF that showed some promise but many were hoping for more out of him. It would be good to have a more veteran presence with the young players. As long as that veteran isn't going to be 35 before the end of next season.
As for the LBs overall I don't know what changes were made but the ILBs appear to be attacking the ball carrier more now than they did earlier in the season.
Must have been the coaches listening to me and Stout.

Pierre Garcon (IND) here is a guy I think can be had fairly cheap and can stretch the field.

dont forget we have Quan Sturdivant on the PS. I think he & Bradley will both eventually will be solid contribtuors next year, with Quan being a faster Gerald Hayes. Hopefully Hortons man-love for Lenon doesnt get in the way of their development

I don't think that Sturdvant makes the roster next year. Reports from the media suggest that he has fallen FAR below expectations.

the Cardinals will end up with 6-7 wins this year -- so that will put them in the #10 - #13 range overall.
At that spot in the draft -- OT has the best "immediate starter" depth. Martin out of Stanford or Reiff of Iowa should be in that range. Harry believes Martin (Stanford) is really a RT-- at #12 or so, I am fine with that. As noted, DeCastro-G (Stanford) is an option at that spot as well.
In the #12 to #14 range -- you are also getting into a spot where taking a flyer on some of the defensive prospects is a possibility. Zach Brown of North Carolina is a boom or bust kind of player. A bit undersized at 230lb, but a legit 4.4 speed guy with off the charts athleticism. A bit of a risk because he didn't play much till last year ( stuck behind all those NC Lbs who were drafted) -- as a senior this year, has shown enormous development -- but still needs more to be a top notch NFL player.

I do not think our interior line is as much of a problem as the tackles. So, in my opinion, drafting an OG in round 1 would be a step backwards (unless he absolutely without a doubt represents the BPA). I would rather them draft BPA in round 1 regardless of position (see PP21). Not having that second round pick is going to come back to haunt us because that is usually where a good tackle can be had.
