2 years ago today...
My heart felt like it was ripped out of my chest as Kurt Warner was stripped of the ball in the closing seconds of SB 43...part of my soul is still sitting in seat 7, section 307, row T of Tampa Stadium. As great as the thrill of getting there, the agony of defeat still stings to this day.
Quickly this team has faded from that glorious, hurtful day in just 2 short years. We're light years away from returning to the biggest stage IMO & won't until we get that great QB to lead us to the promised land once more. 40 years of pain, tears & some joy have passed watching this team & I hope I'm alive to see the Redbirds finally hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy!!!
In or not in...I still have my doubts

in the picture, both his feet are touching paint inside the endzone
I was always more pissed about them calling warners incomplete pass a fumble, his arm was obviously going fwd.

He was in.
Todd Haley not running the ball on 2nd & goal + Anquan Boldin mis-aligned + Anquan Boldin jumping up and down complaining instead of running + Antrel Rolle being an undisciplined idiot = Harrison TD.
That is where the game was lost. Not on a great catch at the end of a great game.

THIS AND NOT REVIEWING IT...

When I play rock, paper, scissors, I keep a glass of water in my hand and when my opponent throws down I throw the water in his face and say "Water". Beats all three, scissors can't cut-it, paper dissolves and the rock sinks. Plus it usually surprises the hell out of them.

I've never really watched the game on Tivo. I deleted it because I couldn't take it. NFL Channel just ran 1/2 hour programs on the Super Bowls and I decided to Tivo it. I watched it last night.
I felt like it was time for me to just let it go. I feel better about it now.

And to add on to that thought, the fact we all know that if Warner could have reached the end zone, Larry could have had a chance at a miracle.
We had seen it happen versus the Niners.

I KNOW, lol!
I think I am finally to the point that I can enjoy talking about the Super Bowl without getting sad or upset. Can't believe it's taken almost two years. It was an AWESOME ride.
But, yeah, I still hate seeing that catch ... ESPECIALLY when they show it immediately after Fitz's catch. Everytime I see Larry's catch, in my mind, I say "Just stop it here. Just stop it here."
I prefer to remember the road to the Super Bowl. Those weeks ROCKED!!!!

That!
I'll tell you what I'm thinking about. Today's Media Day. And all the reporters were asking Roethlisberger about that. And he sat there like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth and smiled like he was about to sprout wings and fly around the stadium flinging stardust on everyone.
Sorry, Ben. Sorry, Steelers fans. I look at him and cringe.
We had a QB I will always be proud of. We had the QB that hasn't been exposed as a total mess of a human being.
Thanks, Kurt. Wish you could have gotten ring #2 as an Arizona Cardinal.

The tantalizing question is, Dems, had Warner stayed...and had the FO spent some of the $30M they saved on the o-line and on the defense, would we be watching the rematch this Sunday?
One wouldn't think so...but hey, we never thought two years ago we'd get there either.

Mitch, with Warner playing the way he did for his last 2 1/2 years we had a serious chance, regardless of all the warts this team has/had.

You mean had Kurt not taken that wallop against the Saints? And Brenda didn't wave their seven kids' school portraits in front of his face every hour for a week?
Yes.
I think Kurt could definitely have lead this team (with a decent O-line and defense) to another Super Bowl. I was re-watching, on youtube, Kurt and Larry's appearance on Leno. I think that twosome could have been even greater in time. I think they would have gelled the team even more. (Think what babies most of those guys were in dealing with the SB and all that surrounds it. I'll always think they did a great job for a bunch of rookies.)

Even in that picture, I still don't know if both feet were down.......that back foot might not have even touched........and Harrison didn't score on that INT return......he was down at the 1.
