Cardinals are 5-3. All 3 other teams in the NFC West are 2-6 after today.
Not counting my chickens, just yet, but I'd rather see the team in this position with a 3 game lead in the loss column over everyone else.
Simply put, if we play .500 the rest of the way out the Rams, Seahawks or 49ers WOULD HAVE TO GO 7-1 TO TIE US!

Do you watch these football games? Warner is playing LIGHTS OUT. He's up for MVP consideration, is a LOCK for the Pro Bowl, and is playing the best we've seen out of the QB position ever in AZ.
What have you seen out of Leinart that says he'd be able to do that jumping in right now? Matt might be a good QB someday, maybe even this year, but to say he's going to come right in and perform at an MVP level is just ridiculous. If he were capable of doing that, the Cards would've been fielding trade talks from teams all year for him.
Simply a ridiculous notion that he would come in and actually make our offense play better.
Nothing against Warner, because he has played extremely well. It's my opinion that this team is so, so, so loaded on the offensive side of the ball that Leinart playing would not slow them down one iota. We won't know unless something happens to Warner & let's not hope for that. All I'm saying is that Leinart will be a star as soon as he hits the field. The next time Leinart plays, Warner's career here is over. Unless of course, it's mop up duty.

Sometimes I wonder if you ever watch the games. Why don't you ask Larry and Anquan who they want at QB? The Cards are blowing teams out, and Warner is the main reason. If you honestly think Leinart is better right now than Warner, I don't even know what to tell you, just completely ridiculous. Warner is a top 3 MVP pick, what the hell else does he need to do to get you over the Leinart man crush?

Sorry, but I disagree. The drop-off from Warner to Leinart would be insignificant. Leinart is ready to play right now. If Warner went down, I would expect our offense to be just as good & maybe better. Too many on this board are short-changing Leinart.
short-changing Leinart?! You're basically saying Leinart's ready to play at an MVP level, because that's what Warner's playing at right now (and this is coming from a guy who has been Warner's biggest critic).
the above is so out there I don't even know what to say.
you really think Matt's capable of throwing for 4800 yards, 32 TD, completing 68% of his passes while leading us to 30 points a game? Oh, wait, you said you would expect... him to maybe be BETTER?

The drop off between Warner to Leinart is not insignifigant sorry thats just silly. KW is playing MVP ball something Leinart has never even sniffed in the NFL to say that this team wouldn't miss a beat if we lost Warner is well quite honestly just crazy talk.
I don't think it would fall into the abyss either.

No offense, but I really don't want to find out. There are a handful of things that could derail this track the Cardinals are on IMO. One, is a season-ending injury to Kurt Warner or Adrian Wilson. Two, is multiple injuries on the offensive line. (I really hope Mike Gandy is OK.)
I just can't project stardom on Matt Leinart at this point. I do think he'll be a solid NFL quarterback, but Kurt is back to his 1999-2001 form. It's hard not to believe there would some falloff if he got hurt.

YES, YES & YES. Not taking anything away from Warner (I believe he's a HOF QB), but Leinart will be explosive when he hits the field. The best thing that could have happened to Leinart is what did happen. He's been able to sit back & watch a HOF QB work an offense. There's no right or wrong amswer here cheesebeef, so we'lll just have to wait & see.
The point is that we are in a much better position should we lose our starting QB than any team in the NFL.
if they win next week, it will take a collapse of 1988 proportions for us to lose the division, which basically means, we'd have to lose Warner just like we lost Lomax.
our division is beyond horrific. 7 wins probably wins this thing. we better win more than 7 games, even if Warner were to god forbid get injured.
The best thing they can do to protect Warner is keep running the ball for 170+ yards a game.
