Two months without fast food.

I've gone two months with minimal (I cheated twice, don't tell the wife) fast food and I can honestly say that my energy levels are higher and that the only time I've felt bloated in the last two months was after my two lapses. What the hell do they put in that stuff to drain the energy from you?

Fast food can go to hell.

What qualifies as fast food? Do you count Subway? What about "casual dining" like Chilis or Friday's?

Was that your Lenten thing?

I've gone without alcohol save a couple of "free days" I took. I don't eat much fast food, but that might be my Lent thing next year.

I count places with a drive thru as fast food.

I don't observe Lent. Never have.

It was my "why the hell am I skinny fat?" thing.

Funny, you timed it right along with Lent...

I guess? I'm not sure when Lent starts or ends.

I'm very vague on what Lent actually is as well. I couldn't give a good answer if asked.

What exactly is Lent?

It's that fuzz in your pockets or in the dryer tray.

Or the 40 days leading up to Easter.

Wiki Lent and you'll find exact answers if you are ever in a Lent-off Trivia Contest ..

I just did that. I knew about the fasting and the giving something up for 40 days and all that jazz.

I just wasn't sure what the actual religious basis for it was.

Now that I know, I'm still not doing it.

The J-man knows I love him.

ORDER FIRE!

Fast food is full of salt and processed corn. Theres most likely more corn in mcdonalds hamburger than there is beef. Our governments corn subsidy program in this country is most likely the single cause of the death of the family farm. And with it, whole, delicious, natural food.

You'll get a crapload of corn, in the form of emulsifiers and sweeteners and bulking agents and you'll get a SHLOAD of salt. THATS why you feel bloated. The portion size alone is too big, but addd all the salt and you're a deadman. I was hammered the other night and ate Micky D's again for the first time in months and months and it was bad bad bad, but it did save me from a truly heinous hangover the next day, so I guess it had some purpose.

I haven't had McDonalds for 3 months. I want a Big Mac sooo bad! I'm going tomorrow.

Oh and their commercials say that it's 100% beef and the TV is smarter than you and never lies so...blah

Ok so I cheated again today. I went to Wendy's and got the 4 alarm chicken sandwich for lunch because I was in the mood for something spicy. But I got it with a side salad instead of fries.

Oh and the thing is not that spicy. I felt kind of gyped.

The McDonalds hamburger contains more soy than beef. That doesn't distract from the taste IMO.

Their website states that it is

Quote:
Beef Patty: 100% pure USDA inspected beef; no additives, no fillers, no extenders.
I beg to differ though.

I had that twice since it came out, just did tonight. It's not that spicy...I'd rather go to Whataburger for something spicy because they load it with jalapenos, but it's still a pretty good sandwich. Probably their best.
