Pariah, That brings me back to melted cheese. One can eat cheese by itself, but one would not necessarily eat melted cheese by itself.

Miracle Whip IS a condiment, because it is purchased in the "condiment" aisle at the grocery store. Butter, of course, is an exception due to the refrigeration aspect.
Salad dressing is also a condiment.
1000 Island + Pastrami + Kraut = Rueben = YUMMY-LICIOUS

I don't think cheese as a solid is a condiment, but it probably is in a liquid state. Looking at it in this light, cheese may be the most chameleon-like food on the table. It most certainly crosses over to the "dip" category as well.

Is worcestshire a condiment or a sauce/spice?
I've always thought of it as a spice/sauce to be used during cooking, not after.

Less harsh than Worchestershire, so Soy can be used as a condiment.
