Salad dressing IS a condiment.

By the same logic as my previous post, neither is stuffing or cranberry sauce. Those are sides.
Manlaw?
Interesting. See, need a separate thread for that as well.
What about Peanut Butter?

If you hash out the olive thing then it is a condiment, or at least a spread. I forget what that's called...but it's gross, too.

Interesting perspective. Should have thought about it that way. Blue cheese especially.

That is a great definition.

Tapenade. Can be good, but usually gross.

Not a condiment, but quite delicious nonetheless.

What about Peanut Butter?
That's tricky. I might actually consider sitting down and eating some peanut butter. But, more importantly, I most certainly would eat a peanut butter sandwich...but never a mustard or Ketchup snadwich.
I say no. Peanut butter is not a condiment...but it's maybe as close to a condiment as you can get without actually being one.

Nope. "Dip" is it's own species, I think.

In college, I ate bbq sauce sandwiches. That was not good.

I think so. You don't eat a stick of butter, thus, it's a condiment.

I say yes because it would allow us to explore the differences and benefits of butter, margarine, Country Crock, etc.
