Indonesian Peanut Sauce:
In a pan, sauté for about 4 minutes,
1 T peanut oil
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 chili pepper (could substitute any kind of pepper)
1 T lemon grass, minced (optional)
Stir in
2 T brown sugar
¼ C soy sauce
2 T lime juice
1 ½ C coconut milk
1 t ground coriander
1 t ground cumin
Blend in
1 C chunky peanut butter
1 T fresh cilantro, minced
Bring to a simmer, stirring often.
Serve at once or refrigerate.
Serve with satay, roast/grilled chicken, pork, lamb, or as a vegetable dip.

nice. I love peanut sauce. See if you can sus some gula jawa sugar for that recupe. Its a deep dark molasses-y indonesian palm sugar. Much more depth than regular brown sugar. Theres an awesome asian supermarket on Warren I think in Chandler they have it there. Ive been cheffin malay food for the past year and a half. Love SE Asian food.
So last night I ordered a cheeseburger. The only mustard I saw on the table was grey poupon. I didn't notice the plain yellow mustard sitting behind the salt shaker. I passed on the dijon mustard, thinking dijon mustard doesn't belong on a cheeseburger.
What say you?
Also, the cheeseburger passed the high life test: cost only $8.
