Last Young's Farm Turkeys

I just ordered a Young's Farm Turkey and was told this is their last year. I knew the farm was having to move due to development and zoning changes, and that they'd been looking for other locations in AZ, but the butcher guy said his understanding was they got fed up looking here and either are moving to the Pacific N'West or may just end the family farm operation totally.

Going up to Young's Farm (just this side of Prescott Valley) to get the first sweet corn of the summer used to be a ritual, as was getting a Turkey for T-giving or Xmas. Another casualty of encroaching overcivilization.

Maybe I'm weird....but their turkeys were not impressive to me. I had one that was very dry. I cook them all the same way......so it wasn't me.

You might try Van Hansons Meats in Chandler if you're interested in an organic free range turkey. Their beef is fantastic as well (corn fed Iowa Angus).
