King Crab Legs
God I love them... Serioiusly I love them so much. They are the best food ever. Sometime even when I am not in the mood for crab legs, once I have the first bite I devour them like it was my last meal. I love King crab legs so much, that I once masterbated to "The Deadliest Catch" when they were bringing up crates and crates of Crab.

learn to cook them - you can often find good deals on both snow and king crab - my wife actually prefers the snow which you can sometimes get for $7 a pound
i usually just use a my electric skillet to create a steaming device - will put some old bay and vinegar in with the water and then sprinkle old bay over the crab legs - put them on a tray in the skillet so they are out of the water and let the steam heat them up - comes out pretty good

My wife mixes up a nice little dipping sauce of butter, garlic and some other stuff she tosses in. Sometimes she'll drop in some cayenne which is awesome..not a lot, but enough to give a tiny kick to those legs.

Grill them. Once you've grilled them you'll never steam them again.

I dunno if they still have them, but Fort McDowell casino used to have all you can eat king crab legs for $19.99.
Man that was some good eating.

I gotta tell you, for my money (and they are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper) Dungeness crab have as much flavor and won't break the bank. The problem with king crab legs are that 99% of what we buy are already cooked and flash frozen, so no matter how you cook em, youre essentially just warming them up. Id be interested in trying them on the grill though. Never done that.
The last place I worked at, we'd get 50lbs of live Dungeness evey day, and I'd boile those little SOB's. MAN! Thats some tasty eating. Snow crab clusters, good as well, and seasonally can drop down to like 3 bucks a pound.
Most all you can eat placese steam up HUGE vats of them at the beginning of service and let them sit around for quite a spell so by the time you get them, most of the briny goodness has seeped out. I never have luck at those types of places.
As fqar as condiments go, I like garlic/lemon butter, and nothing more. Rich crab, butter, garlic. Mmmmmm I need a good jerk. Time to go pull up some Deadliest Catch from the ole TIVO! Wait.

KCL's are the best! Lately we've been gorging on them almost every week. There's a store a few blocks from my house that sells them for $6.97/pound.

That sounds good. What's the best grilling techniques? How long do you grill those spiny yet delicious cylinders of delight? High temperature?
