Indian food
Help me and help me now. I am going to an Indian restaurant tonight. I have little to zero knowledge about Indian food. What do you suggest I order? BTW, I hate curry, so anything with that is out.

Tandoori is good. Alu Ghobi if done right -- in fact, most of the Indian cauliflower dishes are good. So are potato dishes. Lentils - Dal - good.
In my experience, if you tell the waiter/ress you need help prdering, they are delighted to make recommendations. Unless you really like to blow the top of your head off, be careful about the hot quotient. Medium is usually safe, but some Indian places, when you say 'hot' they take you seriously, others don't, so play it safe the first time. Hottest food I ever ate was Indian.

Thank you! Way to come in under the gun, folks. I am off to dinner.
Ugh. I am never telling a guy I am a vegetarian again.

which restaraunt did you go to?
muttar paneer is good as well (spinach with fried cheese cubes - it tastes better than it sounds)

Udatupi or something like that. It's on N. Scottsdale Road.
It was okay, but I can think of a lot of other kinds of food I would prefer. I wouldn't go back to an Indian restaurant unless I was with a group and everyone was adamant about going.

Udipi is not typical. I have friends who love it, but I wasn't impressed.
