Genius gadget

BakersEdge Brownie Pan -- every piece has two crunchy edges -- this is one of those elegant solutions that is just sheer genius. There are a lot of things this will be good for. Gotta get me one.

That is the coolest! The crunchy part of the brownie has always been my favorite. Good find!

Eat fudge, not brownies.

As I was licking out the batter bowl after making pound cake the other day, it occurred to me that whoever decided to ruin perfectly good cake and cookie batter by heating it deserves a special rung of hell -- but then again, crunchy edges...

That's what my mom and brother think too. My dad and I were the only ones that wanted the crunchy part.

I just read about this thing in Cook's Illustrated. They like it, too.

OK, fine -- how about Potatoes au Gratin. Sure, the soft inner parts are lovely, but man, the crunchy edges! Same with Mac and cheese. Peach COBBLER -- that NEVER cooks perfectly in the center. CORNBREAD with those crusty edges. Rolls. All kinds of uses. Just talked myself into it.

Definitely have some good ones in that list. Peach cobbler, for sure.

I think the real purpose is less about "crunchy edges" and more about more equal cooking temps throughout.

But, for the record, a brownie without crunchy edges is like chachi without joanie.

Yeah, but they market it mainly on the crunchy edges angle. THEN they point out the even cooking will make a lot of things simpler to bake. I ordered one, so once I've tried it out I shall report back.
