League is now full. Ouchie becomes the 30th and final team. Sorry to those of you that wanted in.

To those owners that are in the league: There are a few guys that need to activate their teams, and some that are activated, but they have not given their teams a name. Once all that is done, then we can make the decision about the way to draft and how roster size should be.

But I need suggestions from you guys--a couple people have posted about it, but only a very few.

Also, if those few people that haven't activated their team do not do it by this weekend, I might be open to giving them to those people that still want to participate.

So if you haven't activated your team, please do so ASAP. The longer we wait, the harder it will be to get a non-autopick draft going.

One team still needs to be claimed, but hopefully that will happen today. Then we can move on to roster size and draft info.

Guys, if we do an email draft, we have to start it within the next week, just in case.

Personally, I'd like to try to get everyone to agree to a live draft--if you can't make it, then it has to be an autopick draft for you. But the good thing is that you don't have to wait for days before the draft is done and it gives the owners who CAN make it the opportunity to participate live.

I need some feedback on this.

i'm cool with a live draft if we can agree on a time atleast 3-4 days in advance. if it is email, thats fine too but I prefer live.

Live draft is the easiest, IMO. Maybe a week or 2 before the season starts.

The only question I would have on the auto draft is will the let us re-arrange the draft order if we do it that way?

I'd love to do a live draft if possible.

Everyone just needs to agree on a certain date / time, which I'm sure would be complicated.

Here's an idea for drafting in circumstances like this that I came up with many(30) years ago for a 'fantasy' league I put together. Create a random order (what else?) for the first round. Then reverse that order for rounds two and three, back to the original order for rounds four and five, reverse for the next two, and continue like that til the end.

Statistically, this gives an equal draft opportunity for each team if the value of the players is declining along a straight line. Of course the values do not decline so nicely as that but its a step in the right direction.

My apologies if this is now old hat... haven't been involved in fantasy games since then so I'm out of touch.

I would slightly prefer an email draft to an online draft. There is no way that 30 people will be able to be online at the same time to draft. It will be more work and it could possibly delay the start of the season, but it’s a keeper league, so delaying the start of year one is not really that big of a deal.

That's a good idea. Standard these days is to have the same order for all odd-numbered rounds and reverse it for the even-numbered ones, but I like yours better.
