After a two-season (24 episode) run, HBO has decided not to renew its Emmy®-winning Depression-era drama, Carnivale . As Carolyn Strauss said, "We have decided not to renew Carnivale. We feel the two seasons we had on the air told the story very well and we're proud of what everyone associated with the show has accomplished."
Band of Brothers (absolutely the best mini series ever!)
Oz ( I know the guys who played the O'Reilly brothers, I grew up with them)
Deadwood (I'm a Native Arizonan and it is a Western, Ian McShane rocks!)
Entourage (Piven is the man ... check out: www.lhiob.com to play some roof golf)
Never saw the Wire and Entourage is Sex In The City for guys.... Never got into Carnivale or Six Feet Under
I would certainly like having Robin Williams, George Carlin , and John Leguizamo from their HBO DVD specials ...
Getting hard for me to get into Rome, mostly because most of the characters aren't inherently likable (except for Pullo maybe). It seems more soap opera-ish than anything else on HBO... Also, shows like Carnivale, Deadwood and Sopranos are all very much character-driven, Rome is more plot-driven and it is in a much more grand scale--to its detriment, IMO.

People watched it (as much as Deadwood and Rome), but it cost $4 million PER EPISODE to make, THAT'S why they cancelled it. SO what do they do? Make Rome...

I really like Brutus. I think once his character came on screen, I started getting into it.
The nephew of Ceasar reminds me of that kid from Desperate Housewives...Zack. Not the same cat, but I'm expecting him to be all crazy at some point.

Unfortunately, he shows up for about 20 seconds in every other episode.

You do know that the kid is Octavian, who would eventually become Emperor himself? In truth, he was probably one of the greatest rulers of Rome in its history.

Yeah, I did know the spoiler text from history. I think that might be why I like this show. A lot of people from my Roman history classes bouncing out onto the screen.
Oh, and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Brutus as time goes on. I think I like him because he reminds me a lot of Jason Lee.
