Does anyone else out there find it increasingly irritating, watching TV and then having the commercials come on, like a good 25 to 50% louder than the audio for the program?
Makes me INSANE! Is there a gadget, like a compressor or something that one can use to level TV audio output?
I used iVolume to level all my MP3s. Isnt there something I can do to kill this incessant mind boggling onslaught from advertisers?

I know it's been this way at least since 80s. Maybe earlier. If you figure something out please post it here. (There's always DVR. We always record our favorite shows to blast through the commercials.)
I DVR as well, but then I invariably forget to lower the volume before I go back to live TV and then BAM! Im going to have to do something. Im watching the SNL special about the 80s right now, and Im about to pull my freakin hair out!
I dont run anny sound fro my TV. The audio out from the cable box goes directly to my receiver. There has to be some sort of a compressor that I can stick between the two. Problem is, that will squash the sound overall. I want a software device that runs a dB algorithm in real time and adjusts the volume output to a predetermined dB level, be the source level higher or lower than that of the predetermined level. Heh. Nice idea. Too bad I dont know a good GD thing about any of what I just said!
