Anthony Anderson Joining The Shield Source: Variety
January 11, 2005
Kangaroo Jack star Anthony Anderson is joining the cast of FX cop drama The Shield. He will appear in at least 10 episodes of the series, which begins its fourth season in March. Anderson and Glenn Close play the season's leading new characters.
According to Variety, Anderson will play Antwon Mitchell, a former gang leader and drug dealer just out of prison. The character will claim to be on the straight and narrow, though his actions won't match his words.
Michael Chiklis stars as lead Det. Vic Mackey.

Is anyone watching this season?
I was skeptical when I heard Glenn Close was joining the cast but I think her character is going to be an interesting one.
I am sure somoene has mentioned it in the past but I don't see it as being on here anytime recently but does anyone watch the Shield?? I think it is on FX and i am pretty sure that they are just showing re runs right now but it is a sweet show. if anyone watches it and knows when the new season starts let me know. I am pretty sure it starts in January but I am not positive. Thanks
This show is awesome. I thought the fit was, uh, fitting. Here's a guy who is dedicating his every waking moment of his lif to uncover corruption and he blatantly gets outfoxed by Vic and the guys and ends up with egg all over his face. Looks like it's no more Mr. Mice Guy from here on out. Kavannaugh is getting personal based on the previews for next week. Can't wait!
Great episode tonight. I think there's a good chance that the series ends this season and likely with the death of at least Vic. I don't see how they're going to be able to beat the rap.
