To play this game you, obviously, need some episodes of X-Files and something to drink. We usually take sips and gulps of beer, wine, White Russians or other mixed drinks. If you want to get tanked, we recommend a whole lot of pre-poured shots or half-shots laid out on the table, with beer to nurse in between. Constantly re-pouring shot glasses is a pain in the ass if the show's a good one.
Do not be shy about yelling out, "DRINK!" if no one else is paying attention. Whoever yells "DRINK!" first does not have to take a sip.
One Sip:
Mulder utters a wry witticism or "Mulderism" (two sips if Scully actually smiles as a result).
Mulder or Scully smile.
See numbers 10, 13, or 10/13 (Chris Carter's wife's birthday), or 11/21 (Chris Carter's birthday). We don't really know which is whose birthday.
Any character, including Mulder or Scully, shows their badge.
Mulder s called "Fox."
Scully is called "Dana."
Mulder eats sunflower seeds.
Reference is made to Mulder's obsession with porn.
Mulder talks to Deep Throat or Mr. X.
A computer does something computers cannot do.
You see Smoking Man (smoking or not).
Mulder or Scully call each other on cell phone and say, "It's me" or "Where are you?"
Scully gives some long "scientific" explanation.
Scully does an autopsy.
Mulder or Scully is using a car-battery-powered Super-Flashlight.
Mulder happens to know/notice some obscure fact which later helps solve the case.
Scully misses the proof of a paranormal event.
Mulder goes into a dark room and yells, "SCULLY!?!"
Scully goes into a dark room and yells, "MULDER!?!"
Scully calls a connection/evidence "purely circumstantial" or "scientifically impossible."
Skinner is seen outside of FBI Headquarters.
Lone Gunmen appear/are consulted.
Mulder loses or destroys his overcoat, and later appears wearing it again as if nothing had happened.
Two sips:
Scully happens to know/notice some obscure fact which later helps solve the case.
Scully gets kidnapped.
Mulder and Scully actually touch each other, anywhere, anyhow.
Smoking Man smokes in front of a "No Smoking" sign.
Mulder's sister is mentioned (by him or anyone else).
Mulder actually watches porn, or there is physical evidence of porno.
Mulder puts a masking-tape X on the window.
Scully wears any footwear other than pumps.
Scully tells Mulder to "get some sleep."
A mutant/alien/monster kills someone.
Mulder is called "Spooky."
Scully is called "Starbuck."
Mulder is seen in his underwear or a Speedo swimsuit.
Scully smokes a cigarette, or Mulder has a drink.
Mulder or Scully actually shoot their guns.
They drive a car other than a Ford Taurus.
Scully drives.
Credits say something other than "The Truth is Out There."
Mulder or Scully have a date or romantic encounter (not with each other).
Well-Manicured Man (or any other of the mysterious cabal) appears.

Personally, I've always thought the CSM might have been with the NSA, who was always the most shady of government agencies on the show. He also had some sort of connection to FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management (or something) Agency. Martin Landau gave that bit of info in the movie.

Just watched DPO and Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose--two still pretty good episodes, each supported by major guest appearances.
Clyde Bruckman, of course, is generally considered one of the best episodes of the show in any season. I believe Peter Boyle actually won an Emmy for the role.
DPO was cool because it had a young Giovanni Ribisi AND Jack Black in it. Except for longer hair, neither one has aged all that much in 10 years...
"Mr. Yappi, read this thought."

DPO is one of my guilty pleasures. I love Giovanni (cuz he was on Friends, too) and Jack Black is just hilarious. And the thought that someone can control lightning is just awesome!
As for Clyde Bruckman, it is one of my all-time favorite X-Files episodes. Peter Boyle was amazing and totally deserved the Emmy he won. I like this episode because Clyde tells Scully that she doesn't die - that she lives forever. And later on in other episodes, she has many brushes with death: the cancer arc, the movie, getting shot in Tithonus, Milagro, etc etc. So yes, Scully will NEVER die
MULDER: If my Miss Manners serves me right, that protrusion from his left cornea is a salad fork.

1) Post-Modern Prometheus
2) Anasazi/The Blessing Way/Paper Clip (The BEST conspiracy eps)
3) Home
4) Triangle
5) Jose Chung's From Outer Space
GREAT choices!
Here are mine (and I reserve the right to change this as many times as I see fit! )
1. Bad Blood (funniest thing I have ever seen in my life - CLASSIC M/S)
2. Anasazi/The Blessing Way/Paper Clip (my all-time favorite moment in X-Files history is the gun showdown between Skinner, Scully and Mulder)
3. Pusher (intense, LOVED IT)
4. Ice (another fave moment is when Mulder/Scully pull their guns one eachother)
5. Squeeze
6. Momento Mori
7. En Ami
Runner's Up: One Breath, Beyond the Sea, Clyde Bruckman, Unruhe, Milagro, Tithonus, Irresistible, Je Souhaite, Redux, Home, Triangle, Wetwired (I'm a sucker for the Scully-centric episodes)
That was really hard. I can't choose like that - all those episodes listed are my faves. A lot of them are MOTW - weird.

Reason: i suck at typing
lol - and a good man you are! I am a wimp and cannot put myself through that torture of only picking 5.
I was going to organize my top five in each category (MOTW, Mythology, XF-Light, etc) but I figured that would be cheating.
How long have you been a fan? How did you end up liking the X-Files?

My wife says "the mole people" was one of her favorites. I am not sure what that is but she said the humor in it was the best. Very subtle and self depricating.
I can only remember a few. I remember one about them stuck in a hurricane and there was some sea creature or something and I remember the one about the genie with that guy from mad TV that was pretty good.
Maybe I'll think of some more later or grill my wife about her favorites.

I've been a die-hard probably since season 3, I think. I was never a huge tv guy--even now, I'm not a big network television fan.
I've always liked the supernatural, and the idea behind the show was brilliant. The problem was that Chris Carter started to rely on too much plot in regards to the conspiracy episodes, which IMO killed the series.
