You know, I love the Files because you never really know everyting you want to know. You look at any character as how it relates to another character, be is Deep Throat and X to CSM, or Skinner to any of those three, etc, and see countless possibilities. All we are sure of is Scully/ Mulder relationship, and we are pretty sure that Skinner is on their side, but that's about it. I just like the fact that Chris Carter allowed us to "search for the truth" on our own.
Anyway, I don't pretend to be the ultimate authority on the files, but Mulder being CSM's son makes perfect sense to me.
Hey Kate, I've been watching the whole series again, and I am in the third season right now- just saw Revelations- wow, it was so great to see Scully being a believer and Mulder a sceptic. Very nice twist.

How does Mulder being Bill Mulder's son NOT make perfect sense? The thing with the X-Files, like reality, and even like the character's themselves, it is extremely easy to infer something and have it make "perfect sense". Mulder could be gay, I'm sure there are plenty of things that someone might say makes that assumption "perfect sense".
As for the REAL Mulder, I think he's Bill Mulder's son, not CSM. It was abundantly clear that Jeffrey Spender was CSM's son--and they WEREN'T brothers.

A small part of me is intrigued by the notion that CSM could be Mulder's dad. But I think the majority of me believes it's Bill Mulder's. It just makes sense for me. Bill had the uneviably task of choosing between his children. And in a way, I like to think that he chose Samantha because he knew that Fox had that inner passion which might someday uncover the whole thing.
But anyway, I do believe that CSM and Teena Mulder were involved at some point. I forget if the show actually implied that or if I just came to that conclusion. Either way, Teena Mulder sucks. And they way she died, with all those questions buried with her just make me hate her more! Bah!!

Oh, it was implied all right. Remember Talitha Cumi and Herrenvolk? Before he died, X might as well have said it out loud, for all the inferences he was making!

I still need to get the 1st Season from Thirty-Two, so I can start catching up with you guys, but did we ever find out if Mulder's sister is still alive?
I know I saw the one just the other day, when Scully has cancer, and CSM gives Mulder the vial with the chip to put in her neck...and then brings Samantha to the coffee shop to meet with Mulder.
Was that a hoak?
I always felt that he thought he saw his sister so many times, I got confused.
MAN I need to start watching them again.
I wish there was a way we could all watch them together, starting from Season 1.

*SPOILER*
I'm still a little unclear, but in season 7, they definitely made it clear that Samantha died as a little girl. She was kidnapped by the guy who ran the Christmas amusement park or whatever it was and died.
It was a good episode (with very cool Moby music), but I was a little confused between what exactly happened in regards to the Syndicate--I thought that episode in season 7 made it appear that she was simply a victim of a kidnapper. Maybe thirty-two could shed some light.

Was that the one where Mulder sees the ghost children playing on the hill? Or something like that?
Samantha was given to the aliens as a part of the deal between the Syndicate and Aliens. Each member of the syndicate would give up one member of his family to be tested, and aliens would stall their invasion. (Musings of the CSM, One Son, etc)
Bill didn't really want to accept that deal so Samantha was taken from her home. If I remember corectly, she lived on some kind of military base with CSM, Cassandra Spender, and their son Jeff.
I think it was in Closure, she escapes and ends up in a hospital, but CSM and his thugs come to get her, but she dissapeared- it had something to do with "spirits of hurt children" or something like that.
There were clones of her made to trick Mulder, but I am pretty sure she's dead. (See, Colony, End Game, Redux II, Cosure, etc)
So, she was taken by the aliens as a part of the deal with the Syndicate (CSM, DT, WMM, Bill Mulder, etc). She was tested by the aliens, returned to CSM, dissapeared from the hospital and is presumed to be dead.
Hope this helps.

Yup, you nailed it.
Ugh, she was called a "walk-in" . Absolutely, hands down, the WEAKEST storyline Carter could have come up with regarding Samantha, imho. In Paper Hearts, when it was up in the air whether Rosche actually kidnapped her, THAT would have been a good storyline - although I understand Carter's reasoning because it would have deflated Mulder's quest and would have impacted the show in some way.
I'm just not a fan of the final storyline for Samantha. I was relieved that it was finally dealt with once and for all, though. But a walk-in? How lame.
But oh, speaking of Closure, man when Mulder read her diary, that about put me on the floor with tears. It was a good episode, in that the music was stellar and the acting by Duchovny was one of the best I'd seen since a few seasons ago.
PS - Mike (And Cardinals.Ken), if you really would like to borrow my DVD's I'd be more than happy to drop em off or mail em, whatever. I'm home in AZ now. And I got my Friends DVD's to keep me company, so I wont have too many XF withdrawals.

I'd like that.
Wouldn't it be fun though, to form a little X-Files club on here, watch an episode once a week, or twice a week, then talk about it here?
Or is that asking too much?
Problem would also be if I borrow your DVD's, what do you have to watch?
Wish FX would start playing them from the beginning, that would be perfect.

LoL - back when I was younger my friends and I would watch X-Files each week at a different person's house. It was actually a really fun time.
Anyway, I think that's a cool idea. We could even got some people who aren't really into the X-Files to try it out. Or even if we couldnt meet, we could say, this week's episode is: _______ and if they can get a hold of the episode themselves, they can just watch it on their own and contribute later.

Yeah, I actually did mean we watch ______ this episode this week, on our own, then come back and talk about it.
We could just do the mythos episodes, or all of them.
Either way, it's probably going to be tough to get everyone to have them all available to watch.
