Finally something to get excited about... Deadwood season two

Yeah, Deadwood season two starts this weekend on HBO. Best new television series in the last two decades. The Soprano's are a bunch of panzies and the cast of Friends wasn't nearly as funny as Al Swearengen when he's ****ed off.

You can rent season one at blockbuster.

Seriously, this is the best series on television period. Nothing else even comes remotely close.

I have that 4 note guitar riff in the theme going in my head over and over.

I am so glad this show is back.
There were so many great lines tonight, unfortunately quoting them would lead to banning.
Swearengen ranks right up there as one of the best bad guys of all time and I think Powers Booth's character may give him a run for his money this season.

Did anyone see the teaser for the new show "Rome"?
Looks like it could be Deadwood meets ancient Rome.

The commentary on the final episode of the season 1 dvd set is by Ian McShane (Swearengen) and Timothy Olyphant (Bullock)--and they say that Powers Boothe's character is basically the more sophisticated version of Swearengen. Definitely saw that tonight.

Very good commentary by the way.

This season is slow and uninspired. They really lost something from last season and I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyone else finding the new season sort of slow?

I think it's getting better, but you're right it is slow. The problem is that it's followed by Carnivale, which has been spectacular this year.

I thought it was a touch of genius to have the Sheriff fight Swearinger after a booty call to his mistress, and then he looks up and his wife is there!! Way to make a first impression!

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!

The whole tar thing seems to be big on HBO this season.
