The office mangaer character was played way over the top, to the extent of detracting from the quality of the rest of the show.

I think the original BBC show was hilarious. I didn't even watch the NBC version, I just assumed they wouldn't get it right. Maybe I should have watched?

Rented the Season 1 DVD, I would highly recommend it...there are some pretty funny deleted scenes on it as well.

I saw the backetball episode and wasn't impressed. I had a few chuckles, but I like the BBC series much better.

I think it's kind of like Office Space, or Napolean Dynamite...the more you watch it, the more things seem funny to you...
