Great double episode last night - almost all of it in ARIZONA!!!

Fly into Phoenix, head to Firebird Raceway, where they raced go-carts, then navigate up to Fort McDowell (pitstop). Then they had to go to the Grand Canyon, then to Glen Canyon Dam, and the next pitstop was a houseboat on Lake Powell.

Funny seeing them getting lost in Mesa.....

Yep better show last night, and the arguing Paolos are gone. CBS blew it though, with 30 minutes left they showed a promo for some morning show the next day with the ousted family, and showed the Paolos in the ad, so you knew who was going home.

Funny to watch Wally run the boat and wonder why it's not going fast, hard to tell but it sure looked to me like he didn't have the outboard motor "trimmed" correctly, he didn't have it all the way down so it was cavitating(coming in and out of the water) on the waves. Couldn't be sure but that's what it looked like to me, didn't cost them the race luckily.

I saw that prop thing too and said the same thing.

The Linz family dropped their prop in right at shore. I thought they broke it for a second.

Yep, phil seemed quite perturbed that they weren't happy to be saved either.

I think the Weaver boy is ok, it's the mom and the 2 sisters that are nuts.

We could have used Jeff Probst there - he would have goaded them into quitting.

Rolly is ok - the mom and kids are textbook examples of the dangers of home-schooling.....

Rolly is terrible.

When they were driving on the mountain road, he leans out of the window and tells the bikers "You wish you were Lance Armstrong!"

They are all hypocritical people. Every other team enjoys what is around them. The Weavers do nothing but complain and make fun of everyone and everything. Then they have the audacity to call themselves Christians.

Yeah, what a freaking oxymoronic family that is.

Finally the Linzes are in first place. I don't know what it is about them that makes me like them, they are not spectacular racers. It took them this long to actually make it to the pit stop first and win a prize vacation to Jackson Hole, yet here I am rooting for them to win the million dollars.

This leg teams raced around Utah, my apologies to those Utah-ites that were offended by the Brats disparaging remarks about Utah—I have hiked some of your canyons and after AZ (native prejudice) they are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen. Teams stopped along the way take a helicopter ride, met a live bear named Bart, and rappel 200 feet down a rock wall or take a side bike trip.

When the Weavers were yielded, you just knew it was over them---yippee! Ready to go home everyone is surprised, not pleased, that this is a no elimination round. Cue the whining about their inability to make friends. I do wish I could speak through the TV screen and explain that there is a reason why no one likes them and Christianity has nothing to do with it.

With the way these editors have been working this "us against them" angle, I'm thinking that team Florida may be taking that oversize check to the bank. So listen up Linzes; prove me wrong and hold onto the lead.

I couldn't believe it when they were calling Utah ugly. It is one the most beautiful states around, especially compared to freaking Florida.

I have been on that road that the Weavers took through the mountains, I knew they were screwed when they took that "short cut". It was especially funny because there was no way they were ever going to be able to turn around.

To be continued……

Does this race seem never ending? This half-leg teams traveled across Utah (never saw the Great Salt Lake before, so desolate but pretty in it’s own way--odd tree thing but hey we also visited a really big chair in an earlier leg) to meet up with Phil in Wyoming, taking a balloon ride, working on the railroad, rustling up some cattle and visiting Yellowstone along the way, only to be told them that there was no pit stop.

Except for the hot-air-balloon ride, this leg didn’t seem like much fun. Even seeing Old Faithful blow wasn't all that inspiring ---teams other than just wanting to get out of there spent their time waiting sniping at each other rather than taking in the shear beauty of the Park—you have to stand around for 92 minutes you may as well enjoy yourself---. Working on the railroad really looks like lot of hard-*** work and to think they spanned a continent like that, impressive. We didn’t get to see too much of the cattle drive but was anyone else wishing that someone’s cow would take to the hills?

It's understandable that as we get closer to the final pit stop, the competition would get fiercer but frankly it is getting harder and harder to watch. The animosity between these teams and within the teams is out of control.

I used to cringe at the Godlewski screaming now the internal just plain mean bickering increases the cringe factor. The Weavers still, in my opinion, are beyond help, they aren't enjoying their race, the sites or the companionship, even within the competition, that usually develops in a race. My little Linzes went from first to last because of a dead battery but since I also enjoy the Bransons I wasn’t too unhappy about their lead and them getting to the mat before the Weavers even with that little toad Rolly's plan to trip up poor Wally was priceless.

Ugh - I hate the Weavers. They might be a likeable if they weren't always trying to play the poor-persecuted-angelic-Christian card, then act like a-holes the rest of the time.

Sucks the Linzes had "production problems", and went from first to last.

So as usual I'm probably overthinking, but that whole dead battery thing makes no sense.

We see the Linzes drive off, one of them says we have to turn around and go back, and then we don't see them again until Phil explains they had production problems that drained their battery. First, this is SECOND time we've had that happen with a team how dumb are the production people this year?

Second, unless I'm missing something the battery WAS working because we saw them drive off, all a battery does is start the vehicle and run the electronics, if it's got enough juice to start, you're almost always ok because as you drive the alternator charges the battery. So I can only assume that while the batter was sufficient to start the vehicle, once they hooked up all their camera equipment etc, they didn't have enough juice?

So did that kill the battery and they couldnt' start it again, or did they say hey we can't have the first place team running around with us unable to film anything, so we have to stop and charge the battery or get a new one? My assumption is the reason the Linzes had the problem is they were the first to arrive and thus any drain on their battery by the camera crew would have been the greatest since they had the most time with the vehicle engine off?

I guess it's the lack of explanation that makes me suspicious, I assume that's why no pitstop, they knew it was totally unfair to eliminate the Linzes because of production error and there was no easy way to allow for that and not punish the other 3 teams, so they had no pitstop.

At this point I really hate the Weavers, and I really hate the Godlewskis, although I could sympathize with the one trying to back the trailer up. I've been towing my boat for 6-7 years now and it's still not uncommon for me to ask my dad to take over when I get screwed up(usually just trailer it's much easier to back with the boat on the trailer). She clearly wasn't told the trick, put your hand on the bottom middle of the steering wheel, get your wheels straight, and then if you want the trailer to go left, move your hand left, want it to go right, move hand right. Once you get jacknifed like she was you have to pull forward and straighten out. For me usually the problem is with the boat in the water the trailer is much lighter and reacts faster to any turn, and there's a point at which my trailer becomes invisible going down the ramp even in the mirrors until the Tahoe starts going down, so if you're not straight at that point, you can easily get in trouble. I often open my rear hatch when doing that so I can turn and see the trailer. With a trailer like theirs, you can always see it. If she'd been smart she would have put it in park, got out and handed the keys to one of her sisters and said her you do it if it's so easy.

Branson's or Linze's for me, like both teams.

Didn't they used to give people catch up bonuses when production errors occured?

I don't understand why they get penalized?

"mention of Blake & Paige’s jeep breaking down in Amazing Race 2 and says Blake threatened to sue"

I always hated that girl Blake and her brother Paige.
