I was hoping Ian would tell the world he did what he did because he couldnt stay on the pole anyl longer. Any other reason just makes him a bigger idiot lol

Goal for 2008: Half as many penalties.
What a weird ending that was. Ian stays on the pole for 11 hours and then has an epiphany and quits? Made no sense, I can only assume he felt if he took Tom's deal katie would hate him so it was his last ditch effort at getting Katie by giving her 100K?
Tom the last week or so I really didn't understand either. If you recall, Tom was going home after that reward challenged when Gregg and Jen told Katie they were voting Tom off. All they needed to do was get Caryn and it was a done deal, but Caryn told Tom, and Ian told Tom it was true, and they hatched the vote Gregg off force a tie and confront Katie with it plan. And yet in the end Tom is furious with Ian for telling Katie and Jen they should vote tom off? I guess it was because he was closest to Ian because otherwise it makes no sense. He knows for a fact Katie tried to organize the women to vote him off at least twice. He knows Jen wanted him off, he knows he let Steph go without a fight to save her, and he knows he let Caryn go when she saved his butt.
He just seemed really "holier than thou" to me with his whole stance against Ian at the end. From a game strategy it was perfect, Ian was so young and emotional that doing that convinced him to give up, but it did bug me that Tom made it personal like that.
That said he was clearly the best player there and probably the strongest competitor to ever win Survivor, right up there with Ethan but Tom was more dominant. He absolutely deserved to win, I just felt the stuff with Ian was a bit over the top.
If I were Ian when Tom was complaining again and offering the deal on the pole I'd have said "if you can honestly say right now that you have never lied to anybody in this game telling them you're voting one way when you are really voting another, say it now and I'll step into the water." Tom told Greg point blank to his face the plan had not changed, and then voted Gregg off. He told Caryn to act depressed so Gregg wouldn't know, and then at the last tribal council he tells Gregg he was "led astray" and now knows he should have trusted him(and Gregg was taking Tom out that night).
Her bio on the Survivor site says single, 30(in 2 weeks) and originally from Merced Ca currently working in radio advertising sales. She's about 6-7 years older than Ian who was born on a farm in PA but now lives and works in Florida. Ian was apparently homecoming king at Penn State! Weird, I never read the bios I had no idea about half of the people. Anybody guess that Ashlee was a fitness instructor?
Ex-'Survivor' Contestant Arrested for DUI Tuesday September 6th
Katie Gallagher, a contestant on the CBS reality television show "Survivor: Palau," was arrested for drunken driving in her hometown.
Gallagher was held overnight and released Thursday morning, said Merced County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Scott Dover. Her next court appearance was set for Oct. 31.
Gallagher took home $100,000 in prize money after finishing second on "Survivor." The former radio advertising representative spent 39 days on Palau, located about 530 miles southeast of the Philippines in the South Pacific.
More than 20.3 million people tuned in for the final episode, which aired May 15.
