Survivor: Cook Islands
Survivor: Cook Islands
This fall, Survivor voyages to an isolated group of islands, named after the famous English explorer named Captain James Cook.
It was the Cook Islands that played host to Captain William Bligh, just days before the infamous 'Mutiny on the Bounty'.
Now, the new Survivors will have their own adventures in this lush and exotic land.
And Exile Island will return with new twists.
Who will Outwit, Outplay and Outlast all the others?
Join us this Fall for the Premiere of Survivor: Cook Islands.

I think it would be cool if the challenges all had something to do with cooking.
Like IronChef meets Survivor. See who can throw down the best snail and guppy stew.

I'm hoping they add more treasure hunt stuff. The hidden immunity idol in the past two seasons needed more airplay. We never saw too much of the search for the one Gary found in a tree and Terry found the one on Exile Island faster than I could understand the hints.

New 'Survivor' divides groups by race
LOS ANGELES - Get ready for a segregated "Survivor." Race will matter on the upcoming season of the CBS show as contestants will be divided into four tribes by ethnicity. That means blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians in separate groups.
The announcement was made on CBS' Early Show. Host Jeff Probst says the idea "actually came from the criticism that 'Survivor' was not ethnically diverse enough." He says the twist fits in perfectly with what "Survivor" does, saying the show is "a social experiment. And this is adding another layer to that experiment." Probst says contestants had mixed reactions to the racial divisions.
This time the new Survivors are stranded on the Cook Islands in the South Pacific. The castaways include a police officer, a heavy metal guitarist, an attorney and a nail salon manager. The new season of Survivor debuts September 14th.

Well however they want to play it, I’m addicted, though I still didn't care for the young/old thing last time and the suggested race division appears to be just as dumb, seems remove the diversity rather than add to it.
There are only two types of people "Surviving", the whiners and the non-whiners without bias based on race, age or gender.

I'd like to see "Survivor: Antarctica", or better yet, "Survivor: Iraq"- the contestants have to walk thru downtown Fallujah or Haditha unarmed, and without any security or protection, each carrying a US flag and wearing a US flag t-shirt. Now THAT would be a REAL survival challenge.

People on radio this morning up in arms over the racial thing, it's 2006 not pre civil rights this is silly.
I just don't get it, they have been getting flack for awhile now that they have too many whites on the show and too few non white winners. The claim is the non white contestants have no chance because they're outnumbered. So they decided to split people up at the beginning by race, and now they're going to get ripped for that?
I don't hear any complaints that the gay contestants have no chance, there seems to be one every season but never more so clearly they're at the same disadvantage that the non whites are? Richard seemed to do just fine despite being the only openly gay and always nude contestant in the first show?
They had men vs women, old vs young, it's pretty clear they're trying to create different scenarios at the beginning of the game because if they don't it gets too predictable with alliances gearing up for the merge. One side has the numbers and just picks off the other side. I suspect the idea here and with the young/old scenario is they want to create a divide between 4 groups not 2, so that when everyone merges, it's not as easy to figure out who's going to get picked off because you have remnants of 4 teams merging not two?

I think the race idea is great will create anomosity and hopefully won't just see one big group take everyone else out! Its supposed to be an idividual game and its a good twist if you as me!
