Farscape Star Browder Joins SG-1 Source: TV Guide
December 15, 2004
TV Guide has learned that when Sci Fi Channel's Stargate SG-1 starts its ninth season, Farscape star Ben Browder will join the long-running series as a regular.
The magazine adds that the show is continuing its efforts to hammer out a deal to keep Richard Dean Anderson (who has been with "SG-1" since its 1997 debut) on board, at least in a limited capacity.
"SG-1" returns to finish out its eighth season on January 21, when it will take over the 8 pm/ET time slot to accommodate the addition of Battlestar Galactica to the net's lineup at 10.

Farscape has one of the most rabid set of fans I've ever seen. The cultist level of that show just amazes me. They seriously are probably stronger than the X-files/Buffy fandoms, imo. Crazy!

Beau Bridges and Lou Gossett, Jr. Join Stargate Source: Sci Fi Channel
February 7, 2005
Sci Fi Channel and MGM Television Entertainment have added three-time Emmy winner Beau Bridges and Oscar winner Lou Gossett, Jr. to the 'Stargate' family.
Bridges will join the cast of Stargate SG-1 as General Hank Landry, the new head of Stargate Command. When Jack O'Neill is promoted to oversee Homeworld Security, he hand-picks Landry to be his successor. In addition to being committed to a regular role on 'SG-1,' Bridges will also cross over to appear in a few episodes of Stargate Atlantis. Gossett will also join the cast of 'SG-1' in a recurring role as a Jaffa leader who vies with Teal'c for political control of the new Jaffa nation.
Bridges and Gossett join returning cast members Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Michael Shanks, and newest team member Ben Browder, who plays Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell. Stargate SG-1 - currently the longest-running sci-fi drama on American television - will be entering its ninth original season.
Production on both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis is set to begin in March 2005 for summer premieres on Sci Fi.

Richard Dean Anderson Returns to Stargate Source: SCI FI Channel
March 28, 2006
Richard Dean Anderson, former star and executive producer of Stargate SG-1, returns to the series for its historic 200th original episode. Production on the bi-centennial will commence on April 5 in Vancouver. Anderson, who will be reprising his role as General Jack O'Neill, will also make special guest appearances in a number of additional episodes of both "SG-1" and Stargate Atlantis that will air in the new seasons. Both SCI FI Channel original series are slated to premiere this summer.
Stargate SG-1's 200th episode, appropriately titled "200," will center on the SG-1 team as they serve as advisors on a television series that bears remarkable similarities to the goings on at Stargate Command. As they pitch to the producer the many adventures that they have been involved with over the years, the team discovers that truth really is stranger than fiction... but nothing is stranger than the machinations of Hollywood. In addition to Anderson, "200" will feature a guest appearance by fan favorite Willie Garson (Sex and the City).
Currently in production on its tenth original season (its fifth on SCI FI), Stargate SG-1 is now the longest-running sci-fi series on American television, surpassing The X-Files and every iteration of "Star Trek." Averaging more than 2.2 million viewers per episode the show is stronger than ever and has led SCI FI Channel to become the #1 cable destination on Friday nights for young adults.
Executive produced by Robert C. Cooper and co-creator Brad Wright, Stargate SG-1 centers on the Stargate, an ancient portal that allows instantaneous travel across the galaxy. The series stars Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks, Claudia Black and Beau Bridges.
"SG-1" is produced by Double Secret Productions, in association with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. and Sony Pictures Television.
Love this show.
