Eh. The Superman trailer didn't do much for me. I know it was just supposed to be a teaser, but I'm not sure I liked the look of it.
I did, however, liked the way Smallville worked the Braniac story. They sort of blended Braniac (not originally created by Kryptonians) and The Eradicator (he was). They even had a line where Fine said something about "eradicating."
Still, I wonder if Jor-El is going to make good on his threat, or if it wasn't a threat at all, but rather a prophesy that Clark changed by defeating Braniac? Jor-El did say that "even [Clark] could not change the fate of events that have been set in motion." (paraphrasing). But he did.

I missed last nights show...is the braniac/eradicator character the history professor?

I had no idea it was supposed to be Brainiac? I don't know that villan well, or the story behind it?
I did like last night's episode, and the trailer was cool cause they showed it in HD

Yeah, Milton Fine is the human name Braniac took in one of his many incarnations over the years ( I believe he actually took over Fine's body). So, yeah, I'm just assuming they wanted him to be Braniac, but I can't be sure. They certainly didn't come out and tell you--you have to be an uber-nerd to see it.
DJ: Yes, the professor is Milton Fine. Last night's was the end of his character's run, I think.

I'm not so sure it was the end of his run, when Clark learned the spaceship was gone he said he could have a bigger problem then he thought
I think the ship was actually a part of this Braniac. I don't remeber the commment, but they'd have to do some pretty fancy writting to bring him back.
A spaceship can't get to the phantom zone (where Zod is, and where Milton Fine is now).

Whats the story behind Zod? Is he a real superman character or a smallville creation?
He's real. But, he may have first appeared in Superman II (coincidentally, played by Terrance Stamp, who is voicing Jor-El in Smallville).
He was a general on Krypton, pretty much as Fine described Jor-El in the last episode. Nasty guy. He was in the Phantom Zone when Krypton was destroyed, so he survived. I forget how he got out.

Wow they killed off Johnathon Kent. I saw this coming but still its kind of a shocker that he is gone. I wonder if John Schnieder off the show for good now. If so that sucks he was a good actor.

Once it changed...the episode left a sour taste in my mouth.
Yeah, the time travel sorta sucked. Now that Pa Kent is dead, why not tell Lana? There are so many courses of action after the time travel that it sorta ruins it, IMO.

Lex knows nothing right? When clark turned time back that changed that part?
Yeah. Only Clark can recall the day Lana died.
I'd be willing to bet though he'll have some kind of reoccurrence or dream in which he replays that scene in his head.
At the end of the episode though, I really liked the exchange between Clark and Martha. Apparently he had explained to her what happened and she accepted it and made sure Clark knew she didn't blame him.
I have watched it since it came on and really has took on a life of its own.
One of my favorite shows on TV their are a few lame episodes here and there but overall very good show.
