So we know now Mig didn't win. I called it weeks ago I had the final 3, the final 2, and the winner. To me it became clear that JD was the best fit for the band even though I think Marty is probably more talented.

Mig was getting by on the American Idol effect, he had a huge following in Australia and the Philippines that was getting him safely out of the bottom 3 every week. If you notice in his final speech he even thanked both for their voting support, he wasn't dumb he knew that's why he lasted so long. I never felt he was a true rock singer he's perfect for stage stuff but not a rock singer.

I gotta admit the talent on this show surprised me, I could absolutely see INXS recording JD's song Pretty Vegas and getting it to the top of the pop charts and several other people on that show will wind up having successful careers.

That said I think in less than a year we'll hear they fired JD, I don't think his personality will be popular with the band.

The end was kind of cryptic with Brooke telling people to sign up for next year, with what band?

Pretty cool for Marty too they implied they not only wanted to help him make a record (Navarro said he'd play guitar on it) but that they want to talk to him about opening for INXS on their world tour. IN the beginning I was dreading that show but in the end I really liked it.

I was truly in shock when they dismissed MiG...I was certain he was planted there. His performance last week of whichever INXS song he did (his first) was just plain AWESOME. I can't stand JD, but when they said goodbye to Mig, I knew JD was going to be the winner. Esp. with that CRAP song they gave to Marty. Here--you sing the LEAST KNOWN INXS song, and JD--you sing our most popular hit. Whatever. I agree--he'll be fired within 2 years (I'm going to be a little more generous than you). So now (yes, I love a good conspiracy) I wonder if JD was planted/scripted. All the controversy from the beginning, etc.--good for ratings. Did you notice how they didn't show much of the original contestants after they declared JD the "winner"? The couple of shots I saw made them look none too happy.

For the conspiracy theory if you notice earlier in the shows both Navarro and INXS made reference to INXS recording Pretty Vegas. They did it as sort of a IF we pick you but even then I thought that was pretty compelling that they'd already made their mind up.

Marty was great but he's just not that kind of singer, reunite Nirvana and put him in for Cobain and they'd be huge.

I guess we just disagree on Mig to me he's like a really good tribute band singer I thought his INXS song last week was really weak. I knew he'd stay and Suzy would go because I never felt they were going to pick a woman, but I just didn't see Mig as being that good.

JD even slightly looks like Michael Hutchence. I just think he's too cocky and I think the age difference is going to be a big deal, when you're on the road with a band as long as those tours are something like that will become huge.

Yeah, I did notice that about Pretty Vegas...I didn't want Mig to win--I am actually glad for his sake he didn't--he seems to be a real class act and that kind of atmosphere would not be good for his marriage. I agree, too, about Marty & Nirvana--but there's no way Dave Grohl (sp?) is going to leave Foo Fighters to be a drummer again...

They had to have an idea of who they would select days ago. There is no way you can get 5 people to agree on something as important as this in 5 minutes.

Obviously all three of these guys rehearsed with INXS prior to last nights show. I'm sure from that they were able to get a good feel for who they would select.

JD was the best fit. I agree that Marty would be perfect for Nirvanna. Mig just didn't sound good signing that Queen song.

Yep and when you realize Mig sings that song regularly in his stage act to me that kind of proved he was the worst of the 3.

I still feel Susie was the best singer in the whole show she was just totally wrong for INXS, get Cheryl Crow to write her some songs and she'll be a star, she's got a very powerful voice but not overpowering.

Off topic anybody else think Deanna had a boob job in between leaving the show and last night's finale? Maybe it was just what she was wearing but she didn't look THAT big before did she?

JD has a voice that sounds closest to Hutchence as far as I could tell...and I think that was maybe the biggest reason he won. I mean he is talented but I happen to think Marty is more talented.

Absolutely, Marty was the most talented man on the show, Susie the most talented woman IMHO. JD is the closest to Hutchence in sound and look, he fits the style of the band better. I just think they're going to find out this cocky kid is 20 years younger than us and get sick of him.

He was the best fit for their band.

Maybe it is semantics, but I don't think JD was best...for the very reason you mention. He is a cocky kid who thinks he knows everything and they will get sick of him and give him the boot.

Marty was the best fit because Marty would have toed ther INXS company line and done what the band wanted pretty much. The problem his voice just wasn;t close enough to Hutchence.

I think it was what she was wearing--she's huge--she just looked like she had 'em supported last night for a change (wearing a bra)...

INXS is too pop for Marty, at least they were it's been so long who knows what they'll be now. Marty proved to me when he took that nonsensical Britney Spears pop song and turned it into a Marilyn Manson type song, that was pretty amazing.

I sure didn't like the song they debuted last night with JD, I think Pretty Vegas is a much better song.

I agree with that. That song did nothing for me. Not a good start for INXS. Pretty Vegas would have been a much better choice.

Another good point! They didn't even let us hear all of it, and it was just too familiar to their other tunes. Also, Kirk Pengilly screwed up the sax in "What You Need" Has anyone else been to their official website--they already have JD plastered all over it, with info about downloading Pretty Vegas on Oct. 4(I think it was the 4th)...I think they've known for quite awhile who they're going with.
