Its on my season pass mgr, but I am decidedly NOT excited. Im going to have a VERY short leash on this one. If it goes the way 24 did last season, Ill be rid of it by week 2...

Prison Break or K-Ville?
I know this is a Prison Break thread, but we're talking about both shows.
I actually wasn't that impressed with the debut. I think it can be good depending on how it goes, if they just go through a whole recycle of Michael in jail trying to break out while his girl and Link's son are held hostage I think it could get old fast.
Right now it seems like they took the formula of the first season and just moved things around a bit.

It was still on my Tivo pass, but I had zero interest. My wife wants to watch, so she starts it up and I'm browsing on my laptop.
She says to me, "close that, so you can pay attention."
And I replied, "I really have no desire to pay attention anymore to this show."
So she says, "OK, but I feel I have so much invested I gotta keep watching. So if you say you aren't going to pay attention but make me rewind something because you weren't watching closely enough I'm going to be upset."
Me: "ok, whatever. You have a deal."
Ten minutes later...
Her: "ok so if fbi guy is in jail and michael is in jail and bla bla bla..."
Me: "I'm not paying attention, remember? I have no idea what is going on."
Her:
They should have just ended this show last year with them getting away in Panama. The two Gov't cleanup/assassin guys were my fav characters and I think they're both dead. I can't even remember really if the Paul guy died or not, and I'm so past this show now I'm not even going to look it up to find out.
The first season was kind of cool because he had this whole thing planned, and there were some cool gimmicks like the tattoo, interesting characters, a lot of backstory to be filled out, etc. Now a lot of those characters are gone and they've lost most of the original story arc. Its stale, and changing to some central american prison doesn't really entice me.

I feel the same way. The premise of the show was an elaborate, carefully planned prison escape, and as soon as that story came to a resolution, the show should have ended. Anything that transpired after that, whether originally conceived or not, seems artificial and tacked on. If the writers wanted the show to last several seasons, they should have either stretched the original prison escape story arc (this probably would not work for many other reasons though) or rewrite the show such that it has some repeatable element. This is why a show like 24 can last so long (even though it has gotten extremely redundant, which is always the risk).
