Parks and Recreation (NBC)
I can't believe there isn't a thread about this show. I finally watched the first two seasons before this new one started and it is still just as funny. Last night's episode was such a great showcase for Adam Scott who is always funny. I hope they find a way to keep him long term which I imagine they will since he is a full cast member but with Rob Lowe talking about moving back to Indianapolis it makes me wonder. Also I hope we get more Ron and Andy episodes. They never fail when those two are put together.

The Ron and Andy meat tornado burrito and hanging out episode was certainly one of the better episodes of the season.

Along with Community, Modern Family and Raising Hope, this show is part of the greatest 4 comedies on the air right now. I know people will probably talk about Big Bang, but I'm not a big fan.

Community can be either great or flat. Last night's episode was flat. Modern Family is absolutely hilarious. Haven't seen Raising Hope. Big Bang Theory is awful.
NBC Thursday is great except for the gaps known as Perfect Couples and The Office. Seriously... Can NBC take The Office out back and shoot it already?
30 Rock has to be included in my list for top shows.
I'd say, for basic network tv, my top 4 are Community, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock and Modern Family. Weird that 3/4 are on one network on one night. I used to include Chuck into this list, but they're getting a little too predictable and repetitive.

I still don't see what's so great about 30 Rock. I tried watching it, but it's tough, mainly because I think Tracy Morgan is terrible.

Yup...
I thourghly enjoy Parks.. I think Ron Swanson steals just about every scene that he is in.. freakin hilarious... along with modern family, Traffic Light (so far at least), and Archer are my favorite comedies on TV right now..

and for the record...Ron Swanson's "Pyramid of Greatness" was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.. imo, he is the epitome of that show.. love it.
some of the words to live by in the pyramid:
Intensity: give 100%, 110% is impossible, only idiots recommend that
Crying: acceptable only at funerals and the Grand Canyon
Cabin: A place to rest that is made of logs
Torsos: Should be thick and impenetrable
And my personal ron swanson phrase:
“Perspiration: Only sweat during physical activity or love making. No emotional sweating..

It's hard to believe it but I used to hate this show and how they tried to make Leslie Knope the new Michael Scott and copy the office... but this show has gone in a different direction and it sure paid off. Love the show now.
Also, this show really took off once they ditched Brandanowicz and added Andy.

between this show and community (also on nbc) - thursday nights is the best night for comedy. both of these shows are so much better than the office. the only trouble i have each week is deciding which show (this or community) was funnier that evening.
and Ron Swanson, the boss, is a riot on this show - absolutely hilarious.

Watched an episode of this on an airplane. Laughed once, maybe. The mockumentary style is just not funny to me.

Wonder how old that episode was. It's not really a mockumentary--not like the Office, which is under the pretense that it's being made as a documentary. This show just has a couple people talking to the camera and reacting to it. More like talking to the audience than a camera crew.
And you're missing out.

I do like the show better than the American Office. I think I was too tired. Early flight
Still, mockumentary or looking at the camera (whatever) has been done. Come up with something new please.

Renewed!! Tonight is the Harvest Festival and by all accounts is an outstanding episode. Can't wait to get off work so I can go home and watch it.
