Life
I saw an advertisement for "Life" a new TV show by NBC. I really liked Damian Lewis in "Band of Brothers". Looks like it might be good and I will probably be checking it out:

"LIFE" -- From Rand Ravich and Far Shariat, the executive producers of the feature film "The Astronaut's Wife," and David Semel, who directed the pilot of NBC's "Heroes," "Life" is a new drama about a detective who is given a second chance. Damian Lewis ("Band of Brothers") stars as complex, offbeat Detective Charlie Crews, who returns to the force after years in prison, thanks to close friend and attorney Constance Griffiths (Melissa Sagemiller, "Sleeper Cell"), after serving time for a crime he didn't commit.

Premiers on Sept 26th

Hey Mike,
I just mentioned this show in the fall 2007 thread. I am looking forward to this also.
I loved Lewis in Band of Brothers. I will put it into my season pass. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Yep I just added it to my season pass yesterday. I'm curious to see what it is like.
For some reason it has a good vibe about it from the Previews that I have seen so far. I got the same vide from Grey's Anatomy, Lost and Battlestar's previews when they were brand new shows. We all know how those turned out.

I'm in, probably for good. Loved the premise, like what they put together for a first episode. Best premier I've watched so far.

Yeah, a 'who cares', a sucky show, and a pretty good sci-fi show

LOL Yeah, so many people love that show. I was finally talked into watching the pilot double episode, and I was soooo underwhelmed that I brushed off all the 'but you have to watch the first SEASON to appreciate it' crap. Sorry. It goes from 'just watch the first half of the pilot' to 'just watch the rest of the pilot' to 'just watch the rest of the season'. Ummmmm, maybe I'll just watch old episodes of good shows, like Dexter, instead

Because it was run-of-the mill, boring, and super cheesy. Hey, we just escaped from some crazy uber-death machine...but nobody managed to get even a glimpse of it

Honestly, you are such a tool
Run of the mill? The show was groundbreaking in returning the serial-type drama.
Nothing about the show was run of the mill. It may be NOW if you start watching all the other copy-cat serials out there.

I don't know how anyone can bang on a show that heavily borrows from Nietzsche, Calvin, Hobbes, Kant, Kierkegaard, Ayn Rand, Isaac Asimov, yadda yadda yadda, George Freakin' Lucas, but wraps it in an entertaining burrito of sex, violence, and mystery.
But we're talking about this in the Life thread, which is fitting, since this show is nothing like Lost, but it starts with an "L" and it seems to think of itself as a purveyor of American Zen.
There. We're back on track.

Maybe it got there, but the pilot actually needs to grab you, not drive you away
Um, Life's pilot, that is. And it was okay, so I might watch another episode.

I liked Life a lot...the acting was cool and his partner is like a WAY hotter Jennifer Lopez.
Should be good

We thought Life was "okay."
Not big fans of the interview scenes (ala Jack and Bobby).
