I'm not sure how you couldn't love the pilot, but hey, there are just some WEIRD people in the world
No taste. I can't help but feel the same way about Stout right now as I do about people who order a good steak well-done and then put A-1 or ketchup all over it.
I thought Life was okay, but unless the second episode (recorded) really grabs me I'll probably stop watching. I loved the main actor in Band of Brothers, but I found his character annoying in this one. It was about as bad as Vincent D’Onofrio in Criminal Intent. In fact I would say it was worse.
I actually think that based on what I've seen so far this is the weakest new batch of shows I can remember in a while.

I think it's better than a few of them...Bionic Woman, Dirty Sexy Money, Big Shots....
The second episode was good, i think you'll like it.

so far i'm on the fence with this one - i really do not like the lead actor in this and the way he plays his character - show needs to step up a little stronger to keep me around

1. We will turn 1 player from each draft into a living legend before he plays his first snap.
2. We will hear "This team's culture has changed" or "Man, I am just so excited about this team" each off-season.
3. We will never receive the recognition we "think" we deserve.
4. We will immediately jump-ship at the first sign of bumpy water.
5. We are accustomed to pain, used to torture, and never give up hoping.
Count me as a fan. I really enjoy this show now. The first episode or two were decent, but it has picked up fast. I like Lewis and I have always been a fan on Adam Arkin as a small role player. Oh, and Sarah Shahi is much better looking than the nappy J-Lo.

I agree. It's getting better with each show.

This is another entertaining show, a lot of fun and good characters.
So far NBC is getting me hooked on a lot of shows..Heroes, Chuck, Journeyman, Life and Friday Night Lights. About the only new NBC show that I've seen that really isn't holding my interest is Bionic Woman.
yep and the tree sitter was the hotel guy from deadwood as well
this show has a lot of people that you can place in their other roles
The tree sitter and hotel guy is Larry of Larry, Daryl and Daryl fame, i.e - Bob Newhart Show.
Roman, the Russian creep on last night's show (Oct. 24th) has also been on Deadwood, where he actually played two different characters: He was the guy that shot Wild Bill early the first season, and then played a guy; second season, I think; that enjoyed slicing up prostitutes. Iirc he got fed to the pigs the second time around.
My guess is that Life has got either the same producer, casting executive, or director as Deadwood had.
Regarding Life : best show of the new shows. Well written, many layers, with numerous sub-plots.
