One of the best shows around...it's too bad a lot of people see it as the movie and never gave it a chance.
Moving it to Friday night is going to kill it...I hope it makes it another full season.
Are tv ratings pretty low on fridays? I usually just wait for the weekend to watch the shows I record so fridays work great for me, only have to wait 1 day.
I'm curious to see how they deal with coach T not coaching the team. I'm really going to miss that interaction.

I didn't really love the first episode. It didn't have the same feeling as last year.
But I'm waiting for Coach T to make his return to the team

I felt the same way

A whole new set of dramas now. When will coach come back? When will the body turn up? What will the new coach do to finally lose the team? Will Riggins quit?
It was fine, other than the Landry/Tyra issue. That's the only thing I did not like.
I agree I don't like that angle at all, the beauty and geek thing was OK but when he kills that dude I kinda went...ehhh
We'll see how it plays out tho
Here's a question:What happens when these guys graduate etc...they'll have to start introducing new characters soon correct? And will it still work?

The thing is, it plays against character for Landry. He is smart, he has a cop in his family. It would be more tense if they did do it, but said that Landry did it because the guy had Tyra right then...he saved her when he killed the guy. You still get the killed guy which is fine by me, I don't hate that part. I hate the aftermath. Landry isn't stupid enough to do that. He'd know that he'd be off on a defense charge (not so much hitting him from behind as he was walking away) if they concocted a bit of a story. Then you have a lot of tension in the Tyra/Landry story arc of both hiding a secret out in the open, not completely hiding every little thing about it.
It just seemed wrong in the characters to do it...not on Tyra because she'd do that...but not Landry.

I've been wondering about this too. I was really surprised they haven't done this yet. There are always young guys coming up trying get noticed. I'm sure there are plenty of other things going on in the town that they can work into the story.
I'm having a real hard time feeling sorry for Buddy Garrity right now. He was a loudmouth scum bag last season and it seems to me he is getting what he deserves.
Countdown is on until Coach Taylor quits his job and moves home.
liked the movement in the 2nd episode - i agree with it being out of character for landry to panic like that - but it's also a little believable that he'd let himself get talked into it by tyra (remembering that landry initially didn't want to go dump the body)
as soon as I saw the live in housekeeper I told my wife that matt was going to get some of that
the interplay between coach t and the other athlete was priceless
as far as guys graduating and moving on it kind of happens - matt was a soph last year and smash and riggins were juniors - crippled kid was a senior
they are definitely setting up some kind of struggle between riggins and the new coaching staff and sarasin and smash
i think you'll see some younger guys coming up as the season progresses
does smash go back to the juice this year?

Me too...I turned to her and said..oh, he's going to be hitting that as a grudge ef against Julie.

Did you also think that after that head coach said "you must have been a hell of a HS coach" that he'd follow it up with "but this isn't HS anymore."
I sure did. And I think it was very much implied...I dunno if that head coach was happy with Coach T or not there...it seemed to me he overstepped his bounds a bit at the hearing...they are doing a very good job of showing Coach T a bit out of his element, if that is what they are going for they are sure doing it IMO.
And that would make another interesting subplot.
Is Coach T a QB coach there, or assistant Head Coach? I don't recall from last season.
All in all, this was a very good episode...I thought they got the show back on track. It was off a bit in the first ep. Got it back this time.
Though I really, REALLY don't want the science teacher guy to have some sort of attraction to Ms. T....he's a dork and he just does NOT have a chance of getting there with her. If that's the direction they are heading, I don't like it. She's a MILF of the highest order...no science teacher dweeb is going to get between her and Coach T. No way. I'd believe Riggins would tap Ms. T before that dork.

yeah - coach in austin is a little bit difficult to decipher - i was expecting him to get reamed by the head coach, especially after talking about how everyone has their own set cliques and that he was having trouble fitting in
i believe he is the QB coach, although I cannot recall 100%
i think the science teacher may a play after misinterpreting mrs. t need for a man in her life as a need for him - i think she's just looking for someone who can keep her in touch with the outside world (as he's doing her old job) and help her out on occasion - pure friends stuff - but with her being a milf and him a dweeb he may make a play - i don't think (or hope) he gets anywhere with it

Does anyone think that Landry is going to make a big play in a game before he gets in trouble or whatever? I mean I think they must have put him on the team for a reason, and I think before he gets in trouble or not he will make a big play in a game. Anyone else agree?
