CBS Announces Amazing Race 6 Competitors Source: CBS

CBS has announced the identities of the 11 couples set to compete in The Amazing Race 6. The Emmy Award-winning reality series pits teams against one another in a race around the world for a $1 million prize. "The Amazing Race" will debut with a special two-hour broadcast on Tuesday, Nov. 16 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). Subsequently, the series will continue in its regular time period Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

The Amazing Race 6 will send 11 teams -- each comprised of two people who have a pre-existing relationship with one another -- on a trek around the world for approximately 30 days. At every destination, each couple will have to compete in a series of challenges -- some mental and some physical -- and only when the tasks have been completed will they learn their next destination. Couples who are farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $1 million.
Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster (who co-created the series along with Elise Doganieri) and Jonathan Littman are the executive producers for Bruckheimer Films and Earthview Inc. in association with Touchstone Television and Amazing Race Productions. Hayma Screech Washington and Amy Chacon are the co-executive producers.
