Everyone thinks the cartoons from their childhood were the best. I remember being deeply offended in the 80s when they started remaking all the old classics. They had no right to touch Tom & Jerry or Droopy ... those 40s era comics are the greatest ever. It was timeless art!

Can 16 year-old kids get nostalgic? I guess so.

Wasn't there a Flash Gordon cartoon based on the movie in the early 80's?

Awesome. I remember watching it and judging from wikipedia, it came out when I was 5.

Ookla the Mok was bomb.

Check out the intro;

The year: 1994. From out of space comes a runaway planet, hurtling between the Earth and the Moon, unleashing cosmic destruction! Man's civilization is cast in ruin!
Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn...
A strange new world rises from the old: a world of savagery, super science, and sorcery. But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice! With his companions Ookla the Mok and Princess Ariel, he pits his strength, his courage, and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil.
He is Thundarr, the Barbarian!
