They just showed the faking of Jack's death and how he went into hiding (the walking into the sunset shot that ended last season). You didn't miss anything

My folks gave me the first 4 seasons on DVD a little over a month ago. I'm embarrassed to admit that I was up to date for this evenings shows. I had never seen it not being much of a tv fan, but this show grabbed me up. Great start to the new season!
Watching it the way I did without having to wait a week to find out what happens next, I caught a few mistakes such as camera men getting in the picture, Michelle being called sir in phone calls, small little errors, nothing big.
The only two things that bothered me were Kim (she is a horrible actress and her plots have nothing to do with the show plus she got worse looking each season, sorry to hear she will be back after that wonderful break from her in season 4), and that Jack repeats the words "trust me" so many times I couldn't stand it. This season I decided to count how many times he says that line.
Although, as a resident of Los Angeles, Ontario Airport isn't exactly a hotspot location for terrorist activities!
In the first episode of season 2, Palmer is fishing on Lake Oswego in Oregon. It shows him on a forest lake w/ snow capped mountains when actually Lake Oswego is a man made lake in a suburb.
AAARGHHH! I hate this show! It gets me all worked up! The 4 hour opener was friggin awesome! Last year was the first I watched and now I'm hooked. Gonna be a long 20 hours from here on out.
LOL! I was thinking "Mr. Frodo" the whole friggin time. I couldn't see Samwise(sp?) in CTU. Until he proved himself I didn't like him. Now, he looks like he may be a solid character... Even though he is... (some sort of producer? saw his name but have forgotten)

I hope they detail the reasons for bringing Sean Astin in to effectively supercede Buchanon, who I thought was doing a fine job already. It's not like Buchanon has a drug problem, or was exposed to radiation.

They did. He was sent in response to White House pressures on the district CTU offices. That's what they told Buchanon, at least.
