What could have been a truly historic election
We keep hearing about the historical implications with this election. That we're looking at either our first black president or our first female VP. However, with the financial melt down going on and so many of each parties constituents just voting to keep the other party out of office, this may be the best election in history for a 3rd party to get into office.
Well, more specifically, Ron Paul (the current 3rd party candidates just can't rally the troops like RP). I'm so bummed that he didn't throw his hat in the race as an independent. With as much sense as he makes, his stance on Iraq and his prophetic like commentary on our economy and housing melt downs, he'd have a real chance at becoming the next POTUS (assuming the media gave him the coverage he's been getting lately).
Is it still even feasible that if he changed his mind and decided to run that he could still be put on the ballots?

You say we are violent and barbaric, but has any one of you come up to my cage and extended his hand? Because, if he did, I would jerk it off and eat it right in front of him. “Mmm, that’s good Martian,” I would say. - Jack Handey
The measure of one's individual liberty is proportionate to their acceptance of personal responsibility. Without the latter the former will cease to exist.
