His behavior is no worse than your own. Whenever you get frustrated you resort to calling him and anyone else you disagree with names. How many people on here agree with your assertion that he's known as the biggest a-hole around here? I'd bet it's 4 or 5 like I originally asserted. But that's nothing knew for you is it? what you quoted calls him (and me) a LIAR. I asked him where I was perpetuating falsehoods (lies) and smears without calling him names or saying FU but I also think any extremist says silly things to encite arguments (on both sides), thus I don't really get mad at 82 for calling me a liar or lumping me in with those guys. However, not everyone is forgiving to silly people and when they call you a LIAR I see no problem with someone telling them to F off if they value their opinion.

also, being lumped in with those guys is an insult in of itself.

Here's what I don't understand. Why was Monagle fired? Everybody keeps focusing on whether or not Palin tried to pressure him into firing her brother-in-law. I still think it's pretty obvious that she and her family and her people were a bit out of line with their persistence after Wooten had already been investigated and disciplined, but that isn't the real issue I see. I thought the issue was that this guy, Monagle, felt like he was fired because he did not cave to the pressure put on him by the governor and her people. Again, from what I've read (admittedly not extensive) there's been no explanation of his firing. I won't even get into the fact that when the governor replaced him she did it with somebody and they had to pay to leave because of his own embarrassing scandal.

I really don't think you are capable of objectivity here, but just try to realize how completely hypocritical the right is being here. Let's go hypothetical for a minute. Imagine that John McCain was a Democrat and had made this choice for his vice presidential candidate. You guys would be all over the ticket for every one of these issues. You should be. I can't tell you how frustrated I would be if Obama had chosen somebody like her.

Hell, imagine if Obama had a pregnant, 17-year-old daughter. The media would handle it exactly the same way, except it would be the far right making it a huge issue. And it would be all over obama for trying to initially cover it up, and it's pretty obvious that the McCain campaign/Palin people were trying to do that for the first couple days. Have you read the stuff from the father's my space page? If that was a black kid who knocked up one of Obama's hypothetical 17-year-old daughters the right would have a field day with it.

Why is it okay for the campaign and this woman to continually talk about how she's a great VP candidate because she is a mother of five? Why is it okay for them to continuously talk about her son and her husband and her Down's syndrome kid, but it's not fair for anybody to mention her 17-year-old pregnant daughter? Nobody is allowed to talk about how it's pretty clear the to young people are getting pressured into getting married. Hell, according to the McCain campaign the media isn't allowed to ask her questions about anything. She is allowed to go out there and read the speeches they've written for her, but nobody is allowed to ask her any questions. It's utterly ridiculous.

By the way, I want you guys to know that I thought the same thing when Obama tried to say that his wife should be off limits when she was criticized for her "the first time I'm proud to be an American" comments. She was out there campaigning for him. How could that possibly be off limits? If Cindy McCain made a comment like that I would be disappointed in the Obama campaign if they didn't use it. In fact I am disappointed that the Obama campaign hasn't used Phil Gramm's comments more. If I was them I would have those comments and a lot more about Phil Gramm running nonstop on commercials.


That's great, but it misses the entire point. This is called deflecting 101. Janet Napolitano is not a surprise VP choice, and most importantly she didn't just give a speech at the Republican convention in front of 40 million people about she's a reformer because she has always fought porkbarrel spending. McCain and his team and Palin herself are claiming that the number one thing she brings to the table is that she is a reformer. McCain has been screaming about porkbarrel spending forever, and especially at this convention. He just chose a lady who secured $25 million in porkbarrel spending for her small town of 7000 people. He just chose a woman who left her small town in $27 million debt despite the fact that they had no debt and a balanced budget when she became mayor. I don't see how anybody can say that her claims about the bridge to nowhere are anything but complete BS.

So I ask you, if she's not truly the reformer she claims to be, if she's only against porkbarrel spending when it's politically expedient, what else do she bring to the table except a far right agenda? Oh yeah, I forgot that she has so much foreign-policy/domestic policy experience as a 20 month governor of Alaska and head of the Alaskan National Guard that her campaign has to hide her for three weeks (there are only nine weeks left until the election) while they give her a crash course in what she is supposed to already know.

I would just like to see one righty admit that choosing Palin was a purely political, reckless decision... even if it does work. There is just no defending this one except to say that it might just fool the American public.
