40 you are excusing this as a partisan hit job, when its a bi-partisan panel. Team McPalin are being ridiculous. But, hey at least Palin is cooperating with the alternative troopergate ivestigation SHE initiated! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/palin_troopergate
L-O-Freaking-L !
How can you excuse this sorry crap?
LIAC, this is the group who should be responsible for the investigation anyway according to Alaska state law. If he had a problem with his firing, he should have gone in this direction:
It's pretty clear that the legislature also has the authority to do what it is doing. Going to the personnel board that she appointed would be like trying me for murder in front of a jury of my parents and siblings....

So why did she support this group before, which btw is mostly republican
do you ever get tired of making yourself miserable? why keep reading something that makes you feel like you're slamming your head against a wall or conversely, why keep reading something you believe other people to be slamming their head against the wall?

Personally, IF the worst case scenario is true (and I doubt it) that she fired Monegan because he wouldn't fire Wooten, I have no problem with it.
Lost in all of this "The Republicans this, McCain camp that", blah blah blah is that Wooten is a friggin' scumbag who needed to get sh!t-canned. The man is scum and needed to go.......soooooo, if Palin "abused" her power to get the RIGHT thing done than whoopty-do. Good for her.
And yes, I would be proud of Obama had he done it also.
Right is right.
People used to have balls once upon a time.
REAL abuse of power is what our elected officials have done with this lending nightmare. Not the firing of some gutless cop, who apparently protected a violent nutjob.

Harley... What you are missing here is that Palin's difficulties over Troopergate have little to do with the act....they have to do with her covering up. I think most of us understand that at worst, Palin teetered on the edge of abuse of power and showed some bad judgment in pursing the firing of Wooten (like she would have pursued this if some citizen had complained about him). But when she goes into lock down mode, she's sending up red flags, flares, sirens and flashing lights on the Dick Cheney/Dick Nixon alarms. She's showing some really bad judgment here in trying to block everything.
Again... If she'd allowed the investigation to complete unfettered by her/McCain's interference, about the worst that was going to happen was a report being issued that says "you shouldn't have done that." Big deal. She's doing far more damage to herself by trying to stall the report till after the election.... It smells like 3 day old fish and it's hurting her in the polls.'
Dumb move, I think

Remember when Gore asked the courts to intervene in 2000 that essentially served to have the highest court in the land decide the outcome of an election, that while rife with garbage, everyone knew he had pretty much lost and should have ceded? And remember when Republicans chided him, democrats, liberals, and anyone else they could chide with going to the courts?
wow, so now Monegan has turned into a "gutless" cop. Oye.
My memory is that Wooten went through an internal investigation and received some punishment over this.... Apparently the Palin's didn't think the punishment was sufficient.
Don't misunderstand me... I find spousal abuse absolutely intolerable and inexcusable.... But there are ALWAYS two sides to a story, too.

What other "side of the story" would make the abuse of a spouse less intolerable or more excusable??
