I wish Huckabee wasn't so hellbent (pun intended) on theocratic ideology. I like a lot of his other ideas, and I like seing him speak.

I voted for McCain because when I read the stimulus packages that he, Huckabee and Romney all proposed I decided McCain's was the only one of the 3 that wouldn't cause a massive shortfall in the budget. I then decided he was the only one of the 3 telling the truth about their plan the other 2 were trying to promise large taxcuts to get elected.

Probably an unscientific way of doing it but I like to vote for who I think is being honest not just trying to get elected.

It's funny how different we see things. The reason I don't think I can bring myself to vote for McCain is that I think he's just saying things to get elected. McCain 2000 or 2004, I was driving his bamdwagon. This year I think he's been "compromised."

I like McCain most out of the Republican canidates that have a chance. My biggest issue with McCain is his stance on the War. I can live with it though seeing as it will keep me employed for many years to come.

However if Huckabee is his VP then I will find it very hard to vote McCain/Huckabee because of the Evangelical BS that Thumpabible brings.

My worst nightmare would be Clinton winning the Demo nomination and McCain picking Thumpabible to be his running mate.

Yeah I'm sure there are issues that he is doing the standard politician say what the people want to hear thing.

For whatever reason I just focussed on the economy and stimulus package maybe because it's the hot button item right now?

Of the 3 his seemed to be the only one that wouldn't just be economic suicide. My analogy is on American Idol when someone is horrible and SImon asks was that serious or were you joking? I think some of the plans are so insane that you have to ask are you serious or joking, which I take to mean I'm saying this to get elected.

Or as I joked to my girlfriend on the way home from voting, after what John McCain did at the Nakatomi building and the Diehard sequels how could I not vote for him?

I agree with you MCD. What a nightmare.

McCain is a VERY old 71, so his VP choice should be examined carefully. Unfortunately, noth Obama and Hillary are high-risk candidates, so their VP choices will also matter a lot.

I don't know much about Obama, but if Hillary could get Bill to wear a condom, it would certainly reduce her high-risk.

Can a former two-term president service as vice-president? Bill as veep would be a VERY popular move for her in the general election, if not very prudent. I'm the only person I know who can work with his/her spouse on a daily basis without going homicidal.

McCain should select Steve Chabot of Ohio for VP

The campaign slogan would be: The Old Man and the C
