Palin gave a notorious response: "It's just that they may not have some of the necessities to be, let's say, a VP, or, perhaps, a President."
When Couric objected, Palin responded, "I know that they have wanted to be nominate, and many of them haven't been nominate. But they are outstanding athletes, very God-gifted and wonderful people … They are gifted with great musculature (sic) and various other things. They are fleet of foot and this is why there are a number of them in the politics."

Reacting to news that the McCain campaign is losing ground in Ohio and other key states, Governor Palin tried to rally her discouraged fans, reminding them, "It's not over till the tar baby swings!"
