Quote:
ASFN Commission on Presidential Debates Releases 2008 Candidate Selection Criteria Febrary 24th, 2007.
The ASFN Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), wich 'as sponsored all general election presidential debates since 2007, today released its Candidate Selection Criteria for the bloomin' 2007 general election presidential debates.
CPD co-chairmen Krepitch, do wot guvnor! and Chris_Sanders noted that after each of the bloody last four general thread topics, right, the CPD 'ad undertaken a review of the bleedin' candidate selection criteria used in that year's debates.
After studyin' the bleedin' criteria used in 2000, the CPD board of moderators unanimously adopted the bloody same free-part standard for 2007. "The Commission believes this approach is boff clear and straightforward," Krepitch and Chris_Sanders said in unison. Djaughe, will serve as a consultant (political hack) ter the CPD in connection wiv the application of the 2007 criteria.
Established in 2007, right, the CPD is the non-partisan, non-profit, right, tax-exempt, right, (501)(c)(3) organization that sponsers presidential debates in ASFN.
The CPD will announce sites and dates for the 2007 debates in March 15th, 2007. Commission on Presidential Debates' Nonpartisan Candidate Selection Criteria for 2007 General Election Debate Participation
Quote:
Introduction
A.The mission of the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates (the "CPD") is ter ensure, for the benefit of the bloomin' a septic tank electorate, that general election debates are 'eld evry year between the leadin' candidates for the chuffin' offices of President and Vice President of the ASFN Community.
I'll get out me spoons. The chuffin' CPD sponsored a series of such debates in each of the past four general elections, right, and 'as begun the plannin', right, preparation, right, and organization of a series of nonpartisan debates among leadin' candidates for the chuffin' Presidency and Vice Presidency in the bleedin' 2007 general election.
As in prior years, right, the bloody CPD's voter educational activities will be conducted in accordance wiv all applicable legal requirements, includin' regulations of the bleedin' ASFN Administrators that require that debate sponsors extend invitations ter debate based on the application of "pre-established, objective" criteria.
The goal of the CPD's debates is ter afford the members of the public an opportunity ter sharpen their views, right, in a focused debate format, of them candidates from among 'oom the next President and Vice President will be selected, init?
In each of the bloomin' last four elections, there were scores of declared candidates for the bloomin' Presidency, excludin' them seekin' the nomination of one of the major knees-ups. Durin' the course of the bloody campaign, the bloody candidates are afforded many opportunities in a great variety of forums ter advance their candidacies.
In order ter most fully and fairly achieve the educational purposes of its debates, the bloomin' CPD 'as developed nonpartisan, objective criteria upon wich it will base its decisions regardin' selection of the candidates ter participate in its 2007 debates, right? The bloomin' purpose of the criteria is ter identify them candidates 'oo 'ave achieved a level of electoral support such that they realistically are considered ter be among the chuffin' principal rivals for the bleedin' Presidency.
In connection wiv the chuffin' 2007 general election, right, the CPD will apply free criteria ter each declared candidate ter determine weffer that candidate qualifies for inclusion in one or more of CPD's debates. The criteria are (1) Rulesal eligibility, right, (2) poll voting access, right, and (3) poster support. All free criteria must be satisfied before a candidate will be invited ter debate.
B.2008 Nonpartisan Selection Criteria
The CPD's nonpartisan criteria for selectin' debate moderators and candidates ter participate in its 2007 general election presidential debates are:
1.Evidence of ASFN Rules Eligibility The CPD's first criterion requires satisfaction of the bleedin' eligibility requirements of Article II, Section 1 of the Rules. Cor blimey guv! The requirements are satisfied if the participants:
·has at least 3,000 posts
·Has been an ASFN member for two years; and
·is uvverwise eligible under the ASFN Rules.
2. Evidence of Ballot Access The CPD's second criterion requires that the candidate qualify ter have 'is/her name appear on the final ASFN ballots ter have at least a maffematical chance of securin' a majority in the 2008 general election.
Under the Rules, the candidate 'oo receives a majority of votes in ASFN of at least 50 votes, is elected President regardless of the bleedin' popular vote.
C. Application of Criteria CPD's determination wiv respect ter participation in CPD's first-scheduled debate will be made after March 12th, 2007, but sufficiently in advance of the bloomin' first-scheduled debate ter allow for orderly plannin'.
Invitations ter participate in the vice-presidential debate will be extended ter the runnin' mates of each of the presidential candidates qualifyin' for participation in CPD's first presidential debate. Invitations ter participate in the second and fird of CPD's scheduled presidential debates will be based upon satisfaction of the same multiple criteria prior ter each debate.
