The Ladies in my office all think Sarah Palin is a lousy mom
All ages in my office - from early thirties to mid sixties.
All find it incredible that Palin would hop on a plane and fly from Texas to Alaska after her water broke.
All find it borderline child abuse to seek the national spotlight with the an unwed, preggers teen daughter.
The oldest lady (North Dakota farm born and raised) finds in repulsive that Palin would seek to become VP while trying to raise an infant special-needs kid, remarking that she will spend so little time with him that she might as well had the abortion, since she won't be raising him....
Harsh words from a conservative group of women, some who WERE McCain fans...

In what way - these are just mostly conservative ladies (spurred on by one of them, who is due on Friday). There was genuine disgust towards Palin in their voices.

Yes, I too know many women who are far more against Gov. Palin than any man I've met. Anecdotes are only good for so much though.

They don't know her, they know very little about her, they don't know the circumstances of her flying home, they know nothing about her "preggers" teen daughter, and not only do they have "genuine disgust," one has said Palin's such a terrible mother that the defective kid may as well have been aborted.
I can't imagine how you (and the ladies you were listening to) wouldn't think that's seedy and sickening.
And yes, before you post that some GOP do that regarding Obama, of course you're right, and the Palin haters and the Obama haters are all cretins as far as I'm concerned.
I wouldn't call her a lousy mom. To me she is a supermom if she can care for an infant and run a campaign. My wife and I both work full time and have 2 small ones. I couldn't imagine doing what she is doing and at the same time trying to raise a small child. Not to mention it's a special needs child.
She needs to write a book and let me know how its done! My kids are on my wife and I like glue when we get home and not much gets done.

I agree. It's just not fair to criticize her about that without knowledge of the situation. There are a lot of things to find disturbing about Mrs. Palin, but there is no evidence that her mothering skills should be one of them.

I'm 99.99999999999999999999% positive that it wasn't Palin who thrust her daughter into the national spotlight but the media and the Demos.

Well the old lady in your office needs to realize that it's 2008 and women can do more than stay home with their children when they are little especially when they have a husband staying home to take care of the child. Let her know that men do that now as well.

I guess that means they often see what you are writing over your shoulder...
On topic, I would have thought Jon's Scenario would be more accurate but my experience with women and politics has been the opposite as it relates to Palin. My mother in law, always votes democrat, regardless of candidate, says she is voting Palin, not McCain, but Palin... Massive bleeding heart and says she just can't stand the way everyone keeps picking on her. More women than not, that I know of, have been swayed in a positive way towards McCain by her. The ones that are political and have kept up with the basics who have not shown this new unfounded love for Palin just say their opinion has not changed...
