Well, I'm totally sick of her repetitive and innumerable interviews the last few days.

Well, in truth I'm actually not a total hawk, but I'm not a dove either -- I'm more like an angry pigeon flying over the political arena after a really big meal.

Are there any English majors here? Maybe even a post-grad Linguistics expert?

The reason I ask is that I simply cannot navigate through Palin's word salads. She clearly uses a great deal of passive voice, which in itself is annoying. Then, she freewheels from one verb tense to another and back again with no sense of cognitive clarity. There are other 'idiosyncracies' that I do not have the expertise to identify, let alone articulate. If you could imagine me watching one of her interviews, my head ALWAYS ends up cocked over like a dog who hears a dog whistle.

I remember doing sentence trees in some mid-level English class in college and I wish I still knew how to do that, but I would be almost frightened to tackle one of Palin's sentences on a sentence tree.

It's painfull to watch for sure.

Maybe I over estimated the threat here, I think so and that's good.

Studying English or Liguistics isn't going to help you. You need to find as many copies of Ms America as you can and watch the Question and Answer portions over and over. Sarah Palin gets her teleprompter reading experience from her TV career and her interview experience from her beauty pageant career.

This an example of Sarah's level of mastery of the English language,

Do all people from Alaska talk like a character from the movie Fargo?

"I caught him up there shovin' his buddy in the wood chipper."

I'm just saying that I would LOVE to see a sentence tree on one of her convoluted, run-on statements. If someone had the expertise to do that here and post it, I think it would be a hilarious sight for all....

I think her word salads are an efforts to foil the reporter. The longer her answers, the fewer questions she can be asked.

Maybe her incoherent verbosity is a battle trait like those card games have (Pokemon or D&D and such).

For example:

Palin uses 'Word Salad' and it has great effect. Reporter loses 87 attribute points.

Sorry if my wording is wrong, but I never played those games. I'm not entirely sure how it would be worded....

Palin choses verbal attack "word salad", Reporter hit for 1470 confusion points, Palin invokes "God", Reporter hit for 145000 critical teleological damage, reporters head explodes.

How screwed up was the Pub ticket this election?
