I was initially excited with the Palin selection, especially after her speech at the RNC. My enthusiasm faded after she started doing interviews. I began to realize that she was lacking some basic knowledge to the point that I felt I had a better grasp on foreign policy and politics in general (not good considering I am a finance major at ASU). I shared this thought with my parents; they disagreed saying that she was a real person, not a politician. I still think she is a nice lady, but I don't want any part of her as a national candidate in the elections to come.
Looking toward the future, I saw Bobby Jindal on Hannity and Colmes last night and was extremely impressed. He seemed to be a great communicator and shared a strong and clear vision for the Republican party going forward. He is the type of candidate that I will be looking for in 2012 if Barack is stumbling or in 2016 when the office will be open.
If Palin becomes the Republican's standard bearer in 2012. I'll strongly consider voting third party. The presidency needs our best and brightest and while Palin has common sense she doesn't fit the bill.

I saw that as well and he did play well. However, let's see how much the exorcism story buries him. It could be nothing, but afaik, he published an account of the exorcism in a medical journal or something.

As I've said before, 2012 will feature a Presidential race between Barack Hussien Obama and Piyush "Bobby" Jindal...
The religious right that idolizes her doesn't imagine the AntiChrist just might be female, eh? Sexists.

Well, in truth I'm actually not a total hawk, but I'm not a dove either -- I'm more like an angry pigeon flying over the political arena after a really big meal. -Abba Gav

Besides his far right social positions, I think he'd do pretty well. He's smart and seems to understand what the people want.
