Probably not a good idea (again) from the McCain camp.....
Time: New McCain Attack Ad Plays Race Card
When politicians interject race into a campaign, they seldom do it directly. Consider McCain's new ad, which the campaign says it will be airing nationally ...
This is hardly subtle: Sinister images of two black men, followed by one of a vulnerable-looking elderly white woman.
Let me stipulate: Obama's Fannie Mae connections are completely fair game. But this ad doesn't even mention a far more significant tie--that of Jim Johnson, the former Fannie Mae chairman who had to resign as head of Obama's vice presidential search team after it was revealed he got a sweetheart deal on a mortgage from Countrywide Financial. Instead, it relies on a fleeting and tenuous reference in a Washington Post Style section story to suggest that Obama's principal economic adviser is former Fannie Mae Chairman Frank Raines. Why? One reason might be that Johnson is white; Raines is black.
The AP digs into the thin claim that Raines is an Obama adviser:
Obama's campaign says Raines is not an Obama adviser and that McCain's campaign knows it because Raines said so in an e-mail earlier this week to Carly Fiorina, a top McCain adviser. Obama's campaign provided The Associated Press with a copy of the e-mail.
"Carly: Is this true?" Raines asks above a forwarded note informing him that Fiorina was on television saying he was an Obama housing adviser. "I am not an adviser to the Obama campaign. Frank."
Obama's campaign says Fiorina did not respond.
McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said he was not aware of the e-mail to Fiorina, but noted that the Post reported on three occasions, between July 16 and Aug. 28, that Raines was advising Obama.
"If he was not advising, obviously someone somewhere along the way should have corrected the record," Rogers said.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton said he has since asked the Post for a correction. Burton said Obama only met Raines once briefly at an event, and that Raines sought an introductory meeting with Obama Senate aide Mike Strautmanis. At that meeting, Burton said no advice was sought from or given by Raines, who also had served as President Clinton's budget director.

That is playing the race card? I missed it. But I can see playing the untruth card.
Sorry Mulli, but it's true. Those two guys both work with Obama and they both held the jobs with the loan organizations. You will be seeing a lot more of this issue with the economy the way it is.

Well, Obama will come out on top of this argument, for McCain has 10 x the amount of people associated with crap like that than Obama and in much more influencial positions in his campaign.
You Pubs really want this argument?

Absolutely.

you've got pictures of two angry black men (one of which isn't even an Obama advisor) and a nice little old lady who's getting screwed. It's perfection is in in subtelty as far as racism goes. Why not link him to Jim Johnson, who's got an even bigger role in both and is white?

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure there is a different ad linking him to Johnson. Either way, I don't see how this is racist in any way, shape or form, unless criticizing Barry Obama itself is racist.

And it brings in yet another McCain lie to stack on top of the mountain of McCain lies already exposed...

You gotta stop reading right there.. When has a black person ever ran for President after winning the nomination before? There is nothing to go on for this as it has never happen before.. Whoever wrote this is making stuff up like there is a long history of this..

Hell-OH-oh.... McFly!!!!! Anybody home?????
The argument clearly does not have to be confined to Presidential elections, for cryin' out loud.... The author is stating ANYTIME, of which the Presidential election is one of.
Drop the partisan stuff, Gee.... If you don't think the ad is racist, ok... fine.
But your argument above is way off base.

If McCain is using the lipstick/sexism card, then this ad, using their own logic, has to have racial overtones in the very least.
I can't see the ad, but the point above is no doubt true because if the ad has a black person in it then it's as racist as the lipstick comment was sexist by default.

Honestly, I think Chris has officially become the alltime leader in posting "stories" aimed at driving home HIS opinion...
Does any of this really matter? All of the threads started for the sole purpose of furthering the posters own position... does it matter? Do any of these threads change an opinion? Do any of the points you believe you are making even play a role in the campaign or in someone's thinking as they are about to punch a ticket??
My god - talk about real issues... Economy, Education, Healthcare, Social Security, Trade, Immigration... And do it in a way that offers the chance for debate...
All you do is toss up story after story after story, specifically aimed at taking down Palin and McCain...
It's reached beyond the pathetic stage Chris... It's old... really, really old...
