Ron Paul's Speech in Iowa
In my opinion, the 2008 race has only 2 credible candidates: Ron Paul and Barack Obama. To me the rest of the candidates are career politicians funded by special interest groups and part of the political machine. Hillary, Giuliani, etc. etc. etc. are just a part of the process of the government puke process that lost it's way a long time ago.
Although I wish Ron would soften his stance on abortion, I would hope before you vote that folks reading this would take 16:32 out of your day to listen to what the man has to say.
At the end ask yourself this question: Does Dr. Paul remind you of a career politician or is he someone who understands the ideals this country was founded on and is committed to getting it back on track?

I like 95% of what he says and that may just be enough.

I heart Ron Paul. If I ever ran for an office, my philosophy of things would sound most like his. Win or lose, I hope he creates a branch of "Ron Paul Republicans" that one day can wrest control of the party back.
And I too like both Paul and Obama, for the very reason you mentioned, Brian...they are the only candidates concerned with fixing what is wrong with the country and not just paying it lip service while stuffing their pockets with money from lobbyists. Both want America to function better, fundamentally...not just on a program-by-program basis, but from an entire philosophy of government shift. They have different ways of getting there.
I'm going to be proudly and confidently casting my vote in the primary this year...which is something I haven't been able to do for awhile.

btw, Harley, be sure to re-register w/the right address & such. I'd hate to see you not be able to vote (or have to do a provisional ballot) because you're still registered at mom & dad's. They're really cracking down on proving where you live.

I think it's cool that this election a lot of the board has 2 favorite candidates, 1 republican and 1 democrat. So far the conversation has been more about the candidates and less "us vs. them."
