Same with Kerry (who was also a reservist).
I wouldn't consider any of them "military guys" like I would McCain or Bob Dole, thus I thinks is disingenuous to say that the "military guy lost".
I dont think most people would say that either. Al Gore is a military guy? More so than Bush? Are you serious?

are you PWI?
Kerry FOUGHT in VIETNAM dude, Bush trianed on outdated planes in the champaign division and was hardly present, to call him a fighter pilot is hieght of hillarity.

When I play rock, paper, scissors, I keep a glass of water in my hand and when my opponent throws down I throw the water in his face and say "Water". Beats all three, scissors can't cut-it, paper dissolves and the rock sinks. Plus it usually surprises the hell out of them.

It's not about Obama, it's about escaping Fascism.

I'll admit Gore/Bush is sketchy, but plays into the overall point. Military service does not factor into the presidency in recent history and I don't think it has since the last President from Kansas.

Youre not the most cerebral poster, are you? But I can see by the typos how angry you are.
Calm down!
The POINT is that its disingenuous to say that "the military guy" has lost five straight elections considering neither Gore (who considered dodging the draft before enlisting in the army for two years, see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore) nor Bush (who served six years in the Air National Guard) nor Kerry were really "military guys" like McCain or Dole were.

Fair enough. I would agree with that statement.

That is only because your definition of "millitary guy" is very narrow. Anyone who has been a member of the armed forces is a "millitary guy" IMO. It was an accurate statment to say the person with the least millitary experience has won the past few elections...
Way to ignore the fact that Gore was also sent to Vietnam...
