Exclamation

Leftwingers have some 'splaining to do...

Crap...looks like we're going from a two party system to a two family system. Unless she assplodes a Howard Dean stunt - she's going to take the democratic nomination.

Personally, I just can't see how a "Chicken-hawkish" "authoritarian hungry" candidate is considered the front runner of the Democratic Party with so many complaints about GW being the same.

With possibly the worst crop of republican presidential candidates in my generation - why would left wingers hand the presidency over to the GOP by nominating Billiary?

Poll: Dems favor Clinton over Obama
By Susan Page, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has significantly widened her lead over Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in the wake of a dispute over handling foreign policy, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.

The survey, taken Friday through Sunday, puts Clinton at 48% — up 8 percentage points from three weeks ago — and Obama at 26%, down 2 points. Among Democrats and independents who "lean" Democratic, former North Carolina senator John Edwards is at 12%.

POLL RESULTS: The 2008 race
The 22-point gap between the two leaders is nearly double the margin found in the July 12-15 poll.

"People are seeing her as the one ready to be president," says Mark Penn, Clinton's chief strategist, a perception he says was "accelerated" by the recent debate.

Bill Burton, Obama's spokesman, dismisses the findings. "National polls may go up and down before people actually start voting, but their irrelevance will not," he says.

Among Republicans, the race was stable: Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani at 33%, former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson at 21%, Arizona Sen. John McCain at 16% and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney at 8%.

D, not sure why you are putting so much emphasis on the national polls? Historically, these are meaningless and can even spell doom for the frontrunner.

More germane are the polls for the early primary states and things are neck and neck in Iowa, ABCNews/Washington Post even showed Barack ahead in Iowa last week, competitive in New Hamp., and some polls have shown him leading in South Carolina as well.

I think what you are seeing in the National polls is Hillary's strong name recognition and the fact that a lot of people don't know much about Obama yet.

I read that the front runner in NH is Al Gore.

Its way too early for this to matter. IMO its Obama's race and once the field thins out, he will beat Hillary. AFL-CIO debate Hillary was getting booed while Obama was getting cheers.

Djaughe, it's worse than you think...for decades now it's been a one party/family/organizational system...it's all controlled by The Bilderbergers!

It's WAAAAY too early to call this race. Hell, Bill Clinton was at 3% this time in 1991, or something like that....

I will seriously be saddened by this process if Obama does not beat out hilary. I'm sorry, but Obama is the most electable democrat of the bunch and can get a lot of the middle ground voting block in a general election.

It's not trolling it's a legit concern of mine. I don't get to vote in the dems primary so if you all let her win the primary you've lost any chance of support from this pub. She's the only candidate I can't freakin stand.
