Is marrying well good preparation for serving as the president of the United States? . . . . He's always had a net underneath him throughout his political career -- in his case, a net woven of homespun 24K gold.
And, once again his wife made him sign a prenuptial agreement when they were wed: "Which begs the question: If his own wife doesn't trust him with her money, why should we trust him with ours?"
If his wife is not sure about her husband's character. Are you?

You got sugar daddy wife now. He worked his way up from a blue blood to a platinum American Express card, and it doesn't have his name on it.
He has lived the life of a millionaire living off the inherited wealth of his wife. He did not have to work for his fortune, he never had to worry about the money he earned, the taxes he paid, he is not effected (sic) when these neighborhoods are destroyed and working class families lose the largest asset in their retirement plans -- their home's value.

If he has an economic plan, I think the one I'd like to hear about is how to snooker millionairesses into marrying me and living off them. I mean, that is not an, a, a trivial point.

Whether he wins or loses the presidency, he will still be living like a king. For most people, that would be a blessing. But for someone who wants to be the president of the United States, having such a significant fallback position is actually a curse.
Alas, there is yet one other important consideration that should get us all thinking. Before they married, she made him sign a prenuptial agreement. Which begs the question: If his own wife doesn't trust him with her money, why should we trust him with ours?
There is nothing wrong with John McCain's personal life position he happens to be in and I don't believe it has any bearing on how he'd run the country. What I do know is that when you read these paraphrased quotes from all of these conservative pundits you can't distinguish John Kerry in 2004 from John McCain in 2008.
What this shows me is that it isn't about actually finding out about your opponent, it's about telling us how they are in as horrible a light as possible. This is why the slogan of "we don't know about Obama" isn't sincere. The current conservative voice isn't sincere. How do you engage with an entity that isn't sincere? If you're sensitive to being talked down to, to having your intelligence written off, to being offended that you're not thought smart enough to critically think about issue related politics, then these are the problem people. These are the people your ire should be directed towards.

These fooled me. I really thought these were about McCain. Nice work and a well thought out narrative. You should develop an article around it and try to get it published. It's a very strong concept.

Aside from his public voting record, public service, 2 biographies and the oft-complained media lovefest we don't know anything about the guy.
The majority of Americans really know nothing about John McCain except that he was a POW and that he has a so called Maverick Image. But they really know nothing about McCain.
Back on topic, this is a very valid point being made with the qoutes about Kerry...
The funny thing about it is that Rush and Ann have said the same things about McCain. They dislike him almost as much as they do Obama.
Not anymore....

No way in hell do either of them dislike McCain as much as they dislike Obama. It's probably true they don't like McCain much but the vast amount of their time spent attempting to dismantle Obama instead of addressing anything regarding John McCain.
Of course that's my point about the conservatives being interesting in painting the opponent in as horrible light as possible instead of telling the people how great their candidate is.
The reasons, IMO, that liberals fail at dirt and at campaigning in general lately is that they still expect their candidate to be the ideal guy and they get disappointed when he ends up not being such, the liberals would rather ask their candidate to be more like this or that than to look at their opponent and suggest what dirt he or she might be.
The conservatives on the other hand concentrate mostly on how piss poor the liberal candidate is and don't look at their guy at all hardly. Answer some rote questions the correct way and we're ok with you. You could be a turd as long as you've got a (R) after your name and we're for ya over ANY liberal.
In general liberals look at their candidate and expect more from them, conservatives look at the opponent and cast them as subhuman. Hence the theory that liberals "eat their own".
