i definitely don't like it - but it's pretty clear he's stumping on old issues to his base - talking about a constitutional amendment to define marriage
i think it's a terrible idea - but you'll find a lot of people out there (and across all religions) that will go for it for one reason or another and that sucks

So, my options then would be:
Concentration Camp
Stoned to Death
O! Canada
You guys thought I was blowing smoke when I talked about the Christian Fascist Theocrats trying to take over the country. Well, they won the Iowa Primary...

Thank God (pun intended) that it takes the legislative branch, plus the state governments to make this happen. No way Huck. No way.
It does make me wonder if I should take that transfer offer to the Great White North though... eh?

Funny, personally, I thought the Constitution already met God's standards.

So, Huck is running on amending the First Amendment?
Well, I guess we can't criticize the guy for lacking chutzpah.

Right, because this aligns perfectly with Jesus' attempt to conform Roman law with the Tanakh.
I guess Huck has a few pointers for Jesus on the way to run a ministry.

"The Huskster" and his pathetic breed will rightfully sink with that ship. Too bad really, I was looking forward to him receiving about 15% in the general election and his ass handed a ticket home.

You know what? Some polls say 20-30% of Americans would support this, in the abstract, at least. Probably different when they see how it would directly impact them. And a large percentage of GOP Senators and Congressmen vote 100% along very conservative Christian lines, and the Theocrats have been quietly stacking 1) the state and federal judiaries and 2) the military for about 15 years.
This is not quite as 'ludicrous' as you make it seem. It IS as scary as it seems.

Ok, 25%. I have more hope for Americans though.
Oh it's scary... but ludicrous too.

It isn't like we didn't know he was a preacher running for office. Even Chuck Norris can't save him from these comments...

That abstract is a pretty big abstract. People respond to simple expressions like that one, but I'm guessing the number of people who really agree with him in the context he means equal less than 10 percent.
