While Barack is on schedule to rake in another $30 million this month (he brought in $32 mill last month), Hillary is dipping into her own personal finances ($5 million borrowed), has top staff including campaign manager going without pay, and considering borrowing more money personal finances. http://thepage.time.com/2008/02/06/t...-of-chappaqua/
More on Politico and NY Times on this.

oderint dum metuant (Latin for 'let them hate, so long as they fear').
Well, in truth I'm actually not a total hawk, but I'm not a dove either -- I'm more like an angry pigeon flying over the political arena after a really big meal. -Abba Gav
Can someone tell me whats wrong with the #s on the far right handside of this page http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/can...y.clinton.html in referance to Hillary's money? Seems hokie if she is cutting herself 5 million dollar checks.
Nevermind I see that was as of 12/31/07

Not only did my daughter switch to him in time for the upcoming Washington caucus, but my military Son in Law did not vote in the Repub primary there so he could go Caucus for Obama, and he said he'd waited ten years to vote for McCain - feels like Obama has the real stuff and he wants to stop the Clintons.
I have no idea how Caucuses work -- my kid says she'll fill me in afterwards.

What happens to the money raised by the candidates?
If/when the election is over and say Obama doesn't win. What happens to those millions?
It can be transferred to another candidates campaign, or the Democratic Convention.
I think I read somewhere that any unused campaign contributions can stay in an account for up to 8 years, in case they decide to run again???? Not sure about this one though.
Most candidates spend almost every dollar they have. But then again, none of them has ever raised money like Obama has.
